I was just looking through some bebo pictures and I can't decide whether its better in winter where its cold, dark but christmassy or in summer where its roasting and everyone is out on the grass drinking kopperberg.

    This is stupid.

I've seen pictures of Trinity covered in Snow (was on a Christmas Card) which were spectacular so I'd be more of a winter person. Saying that, I prefer the cold.

Plus think of the advantages of the winter - your kopperberg (Erdinger ftw) will just need to be placed outside for it to be chilled.

Summer tbh. Outside the pav with cans of bavaria lying in the sun is just pure magic.

Overcast, leafless trees, rain, dark and cold when outside isn't fun. You end up just bein in the computer rooms or sittin around in a building eatin sandwiches and drinkin coffee. They should have exams in winter.

    (added poll btw)

  • Summer! In winter it hardly ever snows, it just rains and everyone is wet and miserable. Not that it's much different in summer but you get the odd warm day and can sit outside the Pav watching the world go by........

Having sat through exams in January (during RAG Week) I can honestly say that winter exams are not fun, especially when you aren't allowed bring in a fecking coat with you.

Well, in summer, Trinity looks lush, bright and vibrant. In winter, it looks like a solid and elegant centre of learning (as long as its not raining).

Tis a college for all seasons;)

I vote only on the basis of having walked through the campus during both seasons. Winter!

I agree. However, my personal preference is winter, because, like Myth, I prefer that season, and I think College looks very majestic in winter.

I voted for winter, but I prefer autumn. The autumn light is very romantic.

It has to be summer for me, especially those days "studying" outside the Pav!

LMAO! Yes, I've heard. People often criticise the architecture in UCD; I'll have to check it out this winter! :D

Ugh, UCD is surely a sight for sore eyes, although I must give them credit for the new buildings. Great view from library across lake to see O'Reilly hall with Vet building in back. Partly because you can't see the Arts block!

Although my old faculty Roebuck was like Hogwarts castle.

But there really isn't any competition between the colleges, except for UCD's nice open layout.

Also I'm surely going to have to go for a Trinity in the summer, can't wait for some drinking on the grass.

Summer in Trinity doesn't last long and is hampered by exams, BRING ON WINTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Well Trinity is great during the summer when you can drink cans of beer out on the grass its really relaxing.:)

I'll admit that UCD isn't called the concrete jungle for nothing.Anyway they're trying to change it at the moment as we have a plan to replace the Arts block and Science block. This will be done along with the expansion of the James Joyce (Main) library.

Winter, 'cos i prefer the clothes.

I love winter in general so its my personal preference, summers at the pav are brilliant but they don't beat a whole season.

I went for summer because lying out on the grass in the sunshine is fun, but it can be problematic when it comes to trying to study.

How many people actually have pictures of Trinity on their bebo page?

I know Awayindahils and europerson do, but anyone else?

I have pictures taken in TCD. Does that count?

I can't decide. I love the summer cricket pitch/pav combo and having spent a summer doing a project in TCD I found the lack of undergrads a pleasant change. However I do like the christmas vibe around college in November/December. The odd occasion with snow in TCD has been beautiful too. Plus when it's pissing rain and you've got a few cans, some fairy lights, a few choice CDs and a key to the DURNS room, how can you not love sitting in on a cold night with your friends?

For the purposes of my question, yes.

For the purposes of determining whether Trinity is better in the summer or winter (thus segregating two whole seasons from the discussion), no.

Well, the pictures do show people huddling under umbrellas, which could be construed as an argument for summer. On the other hand, they were taken in May, so they could represent the fact that we tend to get ****ty weather here year round and so it's pretty irrelevant which season you're in, only how the weather happens to be on any given day.
