Marita's shop on Fenian St behind Trinity and the Davenport hotel do Maassive (and I mean MASSIVEly long) rolls and properly filled sandwiches for cheapo.

Also, Govinda's on Abbey st do a massive selection dish for €6.95, more than is given on hte Georg'es St one.

I would go to Govinda's if it wasn't for those hare krishna guys who stop me on the street and starts chatting away in Hindi, thinking that I am one of them! :D

The new Spar behind Jervis, next to the new Insomia etc is bl**dy expensive! Its fancy, but just too dear - for instance a roll with just ham, cheese and sweetcorn would set you back €4.35!!

Sorry Dude, quantity does not equal quality in my book.

And don't even get me started on Govindas!

Zaytoon currently rocks my world at lunchtime, proper Persian cusine under a tenner!

I must say .. O'Briens are the biggest ripoff merchants ever ... you can end up paying 6 - 7 euros for a toasted sandwich in O'Briens, Ballincollig, Co.Cork

The real joke was when i saw an O'Briens in Den Haag in the netherlands and it was 2 - 3 euro cheaper for certain items and they didnt charge you extra for sitting down.

What a total bunch of cowboys !

Try "Busyfeet and Coco" on the corner of chatham row and south william street!

    Thick soft bread

Fresh, meaty, superfilled, tasty ... but most off all cheap!!!

    Take away sambos from €3.50

1 or 2 doors down fom peters pub @ the t junction / opposite D.B.S. building / round the corner from beyond 2000

Much better than o briens mace spar londis and all the delis put together.

A bold statement yes... but try it and i'm sure you'll agree.

    "Man their sambos are gggggoooooooo....oooooooodddddd"

What's wrong with govindas? the one on abbey st. gaves a massive mixed plate for 6.95 (called a small plate!). That's ridiculously cheap.

proper Persian cusine under a tenner!

    You mean Iranian cuisine? :p
Yeah, that place is good. There is a new place on Liffey St. called Momo's which does huge kebabs and the like for reasonable prices.

Well, Iran is part of Persia, but it's the words 'Persian Cusine' on their sign in big letters that's a bit of a give-away.

    What's wrong with govindas?
    Majorly rude staff.

    Still, it's their Karma.

Oh yeah? When was the last time you were in an Irish Starbucks?

Well on the upside, Starbucks have pleasant staff who are all fluent in English, and the contents of their sandwiches aren't liquidised.

How can anyone even think about eating the fillings from O'Briens? By liquidising it, they can add in ...undesirable items.

i was in marks & spensers the other day. nice selection of sambos.

they have one's for €2, i had wild salmon. while not that big, that's still a v good price.

I made a similar comment about the staff in Eddie Rockets and was accused of having an 'agenda'...

Anyways, the quality of the sambos between Starbucks here and Starbucks in the UK is like night and day.

I think €7 for heated up pre-made paninni and €3 for a Rocky Road, or similar cake, is a shamefull rip.

I'm no O'Briens fan but I find their coffee the nicest with Cafe Sol in close second place.
