do you have any idea whats wrong

ive been googling the problem a bit one thing says theres microswitches in the side so it wont turn on without the case on it (ive no side panel) so ive been looking for the switches and cant find them another guise said remove the cpu cage and see it there a wire on the backplane that isnt plugged in as its a common problem well basically whats a backplane? i found one wire unplugged up near the power switch but there isnt anywhere to plug it in

anyone have any ideas on whats wrong ive tried a good few things and havent a clue

CAUTION:when powered on ACCESS PANEL must be installed for proper system cooling component stress and permanent damage may otherwise occur can somone explain to me why it says this i thought generally havint the side off the machine would mean better cooling can someone elaborate

also i dont have the side for it so am i pretty fvcked?

Airflow. The server case is designed to be cool. Leaving the side off f*cks that up. When its off you lose airflow, the fans will be doing jack sh1t for you.

what should i do then sounds stupid now but woulld putting the bare side up against a wall work

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 22,479 ✭✭✭✭philologos

but then you have the risk of burning the wall if one or both fans should die out :p

LOL sorry but that made me laugh bt yeah the fans in it are the PSU and CPU one which basically is just a case fan in the cpu cage
