    quick question..
is it possible to turn off the "windows securtity alert" pop up when windows boots? ("your computer may be at risk" etc)
i'm running a fresh copy of winxp pro with no antivirus software as yet..
if i d/led free antivirus software, would that take care of it?

I get that cos i got automatic updates turned off. There is a registry tweak, but it turns off all pop-ups iirc. Don't think you really wanna do that. Get an av prog. I recommend avg. Safer.
Av software would sort this out as long as you've got automatic updates set to on.
