    hi all

took these awhile back and thought I'd post them for some feedback.

There is a bit of a concept type thing tying them all together. I guess collectively could be called "on the run" or " the escape"...I dont know really.. I guess the theme isnt that strong. I didnt really shoot them with that idea in mind. Forget the theme....they're shots of my son walking around on an empty beach!

Maybe a bit unconventional. They may not appeal to everyone....or anyone for that matter. . Feel free to let me know either way.

Great shots. I take it that was the Sigma 20-40?
Are you using any filters there?

No I like them. Think the last one's my fav. Proportions are very appealing plus i like the foot print in the sand.

Pity about the bag in the first one, takes away from the rest of the pic.

I agree. Overall very good though. Same Q as sinecurea, what filters or post processing did you do on them?

Fantastic stuff - especially the second one, it's so original.

Sorry, not much more constructive stuff to say :(

    Overall I like them.

Shame about the bag in the 1st one.

My favourite is the 2nd last 1 where your son is looking down at the stone. I think it is a wonderful shot. I love that we are left to imagine the wonder & amazement in his eyes as his imagination runs riot about the small black stone!

    Thanks for sharing!

    hey all

    thanks for the comments.

ya the camera bag. :( not the best. I was pretty disapointed that it was in the shot. Thought I may be able to exlpain it under that veil of the concept. As in it shows he was still close to "base" when it was taken. He was waiting for the opertunity to make the run for it. pretty weak I know. :D

not the 20-40 actually it was the 18-70 DX that I no longer own. I sold it with my D70 and regret it now. Although I'm a bit better off with my seperate lenses, it cost a good amount to get there.

The tones come mostly from a curves adjustment layer. I usually adjust every channel individually giving them more or less the same "s" curve. I find it works particularly well in photos that have a small colour range.

thanks Tarakiwa. One of the things I love about watching kids is how they get fascinated over the simplest things.

thanks for the comment, glad you liked it.

I love them all but 2,3 and 5 are dingers! The style and PP is superb. They work really well as a "concept type thing" too and the three I mentioned would hold their own individually anywhere.

Maybe it is that being a parent myself too I can understand the joy you feel when their eyes light up.

As in your photograph you dont have to be able to see their face to know how excited they are.

I really think that it is a shot you should be proud of - a great moment captured!

(I am going to stop now because I think I am getting a bit too soppy for a 6 foot 3, 16 stone, bearded man!!)
