    Need some advice please:

The Philips one is tempting due to fact it has 2X HDMI inputs... plus i can get it locally.

However, i've also heard people say that Samsung make the best LCD TVs around.

I know it's a tricky question to answer in a definitive way, but if anyone could offer advice, it would be much apprecaited.

    Thanks

Can't tell you about the Philips but I like the Sammy's. I have the 32" version and I think it offer great value for money.

But just so you know there is a newer model of the above
    LE26R71

So please consider the newer version if you go the Samsung route.

I am thinkin of going for a 40" Samsung (LE40R74B) myself! Out of all the tv's I have seen they are the nicest looking and one of the most recommened brands.

I was originally going to go for the 42" or 50" Plasma Samsung (PS50Q7H)but I was advised against it.

Did you go with the Philips?

Thinking about this one myself because the €800 price point is about my limit for a new TV (and 26" is about all I can fit in my sitting room). Seen a few customer reviews of the Philips that say it is good for the price, but would trust a proper review more than those, you don't know who is writting them.

Thumbs up for the Sammy, I've got the 32R41BD and very happy with it.

As quazzy said, go for the newer R71 if there's not a massive price difference.

(Mate of mine recently bought the R41 and when he got home they'd given him the R71 instead, nice upgrade!)

i have the 32" samsung LE32R71B , and i have to say that it is the muts nuts .... the only input im using at the moment is normal sky tv, and i have to say, the picture quality it outstanding .... much better than any shop floor examples ive seen.

edit: i forgot to mention that i think i paid around 1500 for mine around 4 months ago ... but to be quite honest im not that disappointed even though im down 300 notes ... its that nice a telly!
