markets and such things

Hey people, I've just moved to Dublin from Australia and I'm trying to feed a raging secondhand/junk/jumble/collectibles market addiction. So far I'm yet to find a market of that kind in Dublin, does anyone know of any?

At this stage I'm a little surprised, this will be the first city I've ever been to that doesn't have a few weekend markets full of random cheap bits, but there is a first for everything ;) I've found and heard of a couple that have closed down, but that's hardly helping...

And this is my first post here, so hello :)

    Peter.

    Hi there Mr P.

Dublin does seem to be lacking in these markets, but if it helps scratch an itch, you could try Fairyhouse on a Sunday. (fairyhouse racecourse, out the N3 past Blanchardstown SC, watch the signs, you're taking a right off the main road). Its not great, but there is a small element of the jumble sale type of thing to it. In fairness, I reckon 80% of it is just the usual Irish market stuff of mobile phone accesories, fake CDs and DVDs and that crap, but there is a few stalls selling junk. Its on most Sundays with the exception of race days. As of late, there seems to be a few more stalls there selling home made food and that type of thing if that floats your boat.

Midland Sunday Market outside Clara Co.Offaly can be an Aladdin's cave occasionally, bric-a-brac, junk, books, bits of furniture etc. Hope this helps.
