Has anyone watched it yet, just started this week? Very Most Haunted in set up but a tad creepier and less over-indulgent.

    Any thoughts?

It was shown on ITV2 early in the year and i knew it was due to be shown but like you saw nothing. Its dealing with real peoples homes as opposed to castles etc so i'm very interested to see it.

    go find, well done!

the "psychic/medium" used one of these most famous in the uk, although i've never heard of her. She claims to be able to assist spirits pass on to other side. She used some mad latin prayer last nite and the spirit went just like that. There were a couple of loose ends though. Im skeptical about the show tbh, but they did pick up noises on camera and some thermal images.

Like MH, they have a skeptic and a paranormal investigator onboard. The people living in the house were petrified.

I found some of the emotions and illness they experience was not down to the paranormal though. More like the power of suggestion.

still it did give me the shivers a few times...

Good show, nice to see real people and what they are going through as opposed to the whole haunted castle thing.

I watched this last night aswell. It was nice, as 6th said, to see that they concentrated on real people.

The poor Mother was going through hell in that house and the fact that her husband wasn't 100% behind her really messed with her head. It was a shame to see that to be honest.

The sceptic annoyed me, as most "professional" sceptics do. He was clearly uneasy in the house and yet he was standing there in the bedroom saying things like "I don't feel a thing in here" and "I'd quite happily stay the night in this room". HE COULDN'T GET OUT FAST ENOUGH!!!!

The Spiritualist Medium seemed to genuinely care about the family and in my opinion she did her best for them. A lot less show and cabaret from her than a certain other Spiritualist Medium I've seen on television. Very professional.

All in all it was an interesting programme but I would like to see a few more episodes before making my mind up.

    Good man dib,

I fell asleep just when the psychic came into the room and said it was a haunting. I agree with you I thought she was quite good, but didn't see the rest of it to comment!

HAve to say I dont 100% with you there dib (sure if i did it wouldnt be any fun). The husband couldnt possibly give her full support as he wasnt experiencing any of it, its not like he was saying she was making it up. He understood that whatever it was it was upsetting her and the kids and that bothered him - men especially can feel very powerless in situations like that.

As for the sceptic, i actually liked him and didnt think he had a problem with the place at all. Fact is plenty of people could have gone in there and felt nothing, i've seen it a fair few times in similar places. He acknowledged the families suffering and even said he hoped that Mia's clearing would put them at ease.

Nice to see a medium going old school and using a bit of latin though, will definately be watching again.

No fun indeed! I agree! ;)

I felt that there was a bit of disbelief on behalf of the husband. I can undertand that he probably didn't know what to make of it but after having two children with his wife, and from her very apparant stress and emotion over the situation, I thought he was a little blasé about it all. He was worried, but, in my opinion, not overly so. Personally, if I were in his situation I would have considered moving house, especially when my wife started taking night work to stay out of the house. Obviously if it *were* me, I would have considered calling in a medium but he is obviously from a different school of thought.

That's fair enough. I'm sure you're right that plenty could have felt nothing in there, but from what I saw, he looked edgy and uncomfortable when standing in the spot beside the boy's bed. Just different interpretations there. ;)

I haven't seen this prog yet, thought I had missed it. I'm reading the psychic Mia Dolan's book 'Haunted Homes' about the series at the moment and it's riveting! I saw it in the library and I had read another of her books a few months ago and found it very interesting. She seems very genuine and completely concerned about helping people and guiding spirits to the 'other' side. Can't wait to see the programme now !!

I watched the first one and thought it was good. Forgot about it this week.
I was a bit put off Mia Dolan after reading her autobiography, but maybe thats just me.
Ive seen her on This Morning as well and she seems quite good.

Damn I cannot get the station on my tv. I have read her books also "The Gift", "Mia's World" and half way through "Haunted Home" I found her to be so normal the way she protrays herself (in her books anyway) to be refreshing. She had a hard life so to speak and yet she got up and got on with it so more power to her. Her first book I found the best as it shows how she dealt with her gift in my opinion as normally as anyone could. She seems to me a normal woman who drinks, smokes and likes life as most of us. Good on her.
