You should have a figure in mine and add 1-2 K on to it, remember it will be another year before your review comes around so go for it, talk yourself up,

...sorry to burst your bubble here but talking yourself up will serve no purpose. I have spent a long time in senior positions with various sw companies. The amount of your pay rise was decided before the review - effectively the review is giving you the result of the exam - it is not the exam!
And if the company is a US multi national you pay rise is determined by comparing you against the other people around you - pay rises are usually spread out based on a "curve". So if you have done well I am sure lots of others around you have also, so you are in competition with your fellow employees for a slice of the same pie, better you work the bigger the piece of pie. The review really serves the purpose of allowing you discuss with your boss what you have done well and where you need to improve. Getting him/her to change the review score up will not happen!
