card dead + table maniacs = walk of shame?

Last night, I got moved to a new table half way through a tournament. I had a healthy enough stack for the blinds, etc, but at this table, there were 2 huge stacked players who seemed to be getting all the cards. If one didn't raise pre-flop, the other one would. They pretty much stayed away from each other and only showed down top hands.

To make matters even worse, one of these big stacks was the button when I was BB, the other was BB when I was the button. I was, to put things bluntly, completely card dead and totally screwed.

Now, it's well-known that when you get to short stackedness, pushing with any 2 cards when it's folded around to you is almost mandatory. However, in lp and even mp, I never got the chance, as one of the maniacs would raise every time (and if they didn't, the other short stacks at the table took their chance and went all-in).

I eventually pushed on the button with A3s (my first picture card in about a hour) and got called by KK, and went home. But was there anything I could have done to prevent this? Was I just destined to lose?

    yes

poker is all about destiny, the current phase of the moon and the karmic effect of your 11 previous reincarnations

eating a dinner of 4-leaved clovers and rabbits feet before you sit down to play helps too

Dang, I knew my chi was mis-aligned when my aces were cracked by 83o earlier in the tourney. I should have got a chakra expert in.
