Oh yeah, when the changed it from 'and Éire' to 'and the motherland'.
    Ace. :D

Am I the only one here who doesn't get SunnO)))? I would love to see Justin Broderick though.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,135 ✭✭✭✭John

What's there to get? Amps, riffing, slowness, lots of volume. It's trance music for the leatherclad. Seriously, see them live and then make your mind up about them. On record they're good but live they're another animal altogether. You need the volume to appreciate them properly.

Anyone know how stict the Dublin place is on under-18s and ID? I'm assuming the gig's over-18s.

Its crawdaddy and very strict is the answer.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,135 ✭✭✭✭John

Strict enough I think. Although I haven't been asked for ID the last few times but I don't look underage.

Yep, as Toast said, Crawdaddy are very strict on ID

I dont particularly like Sunn O))) but a friend wants me to go just to experience them... i fear this gig

I've been trying for ages to get my hands on some Sun O))) but due to a long contrivance of circumstances I've thus far been unsuccessful (stone broke, dialup, etc etc)
Anyway I'm guessing these guys play something a little bit like Isis, correct? If so, I'm probably there. I just need to convince a mate to follow suit :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 456 ✭✭Arucard

i dont think id compare them to Isis....i was gonna direct you to a SunnO))) tribute page on mySpace, but it seems to be gone :/
    got my ticket today :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,135 ✭✭✭✭John

Isis and Sunn O))) are about a million miles apart. Just go to the gig and then you'll know all about Sunn O))) (who **** on Isis from very high up).

Sunn O))) on youtube with Atsuo from Boris on vocals (but bear in mind that the volume is so ****ing loud in the venue that you will probably **** yourself).

Anyone know if they'll be touring with Malefic or any of the vocalists who appeared on Black One?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,135 ✭✭✭✭John

I don't think so, I think Malefic has fallen out with them. Might be lucky and get Attila from Mayhem (which would be explosively cool)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,110 ✭✭✭Mr Rivers

Where did ye guys get your tickets for the Dublin gig? I went to the local ticket shop and all they had coming up was the Cork show - nothing about a Dublin date at all! :(

i got mine in Sound Cellar

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,746 ✭✭✭0utshined

Cheers lads, I might be in town to get to the Sound Cellar this weekend but if not I'll try that tickets.ie site.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,217 ✭✭✭Matthewthebig

I just found out this gig'll be between 300-600 people.

    Scarily small...

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,746 ✭✭✭0utshined

If that's the case it also means the (musical heaviness : person) ratio is going to be pretty high which is cool in my book. Looking forward to this gig now.

Nobody is to buy a ticket until I have mine secured, okay? :)
