I'm not sure i'm doing his squats correctly. however, my legs do feel heavy for a few days afterwards.

when you reach the bottom are your feet supposed to be firmly planted on the ground?
I suspect i am doing them incorrectly as it seems too easy the way i do it.
My toes are arched upward when i get to the bottom.
I tryed it the other way but i kept losing my balance.

I also do his hindu squats- very tiring. I can only do about 24 before my face turns this colour

I can't see the day where i'll able to do 200 of these in a row):

i'm usually tired for about two days after doing his exercises. so i do his exercise every two- three days

    Hi Nacho,

With the squats you are on the balls of you feet for the whole mevement.Furey, I'm not a big fan of his, his instruction is sloppy, his prices inflated and more importantly he is NOT a fine figure of fitness. That said he is an excellent copywriter....

If you are into your bodyweight exercises (and I am in a huge way) I highly recomend you look at the work of Ross Enamait, in particular his new book, Never Gymless, which you cna get at his webiste RossTraining.com. By far then most comprehensive and instructional product available on bodyweight work.well at least till I write my own..;)

i feel awakward having to ask this but what do you mean by the balls of you feet? Are your toes arched off the ground?

i'll check out this person you mentioned. Thanks for your reply.

Toes on the floor and heels slightly off the floor.

His training is ok for the beginners and those wanting a change.

Overall i do like his approach to backbends and stretching as most people pay no attention to this

allright. So what your really saying is his exercise regime won't increase your strength.
I'm actually reasonably well-built but far weaker than i look. It's a bit dispiriting when i read about a person doing 10 kg dumbells on each arm 160 times for the first time ever.
ah well i'll just have to console myself that it's down to genetics.

What are your goals? I notice that you are talking about very high reps i.e. 160 and 200. Even 24 reps is high. These rep ranges might sound impressive but they're not an efficient way to gain strength.

BTW I'm not familar with Furey's squats - are we taling about one legged Pistol squats here? Great exercise!

well, i was referring to what somebody said in another thread.
He seemed to be a beginner and could curl 10 kg dumbells on each arm 160 times.
I 'm about six foot 1 and I weigh over 15 stone and i can't do that. In fact i once went to a gym and a friend was surprised how little i could lift based on my size.
Yet I could only curl 4 kg dumbells about 20 times(my friend couldn't believe this) before i'd start using my shoulder.
    my bench-pressing wasn't much better; 100 kg a maximum of 10 times
So my goal is to get stronger. i thought by doing these exercises it would enable me to do that. I would rather be two stone lighter and stronger rather my current position. Having said that i do enjoy doing these exercises.

Here is a breakdown of the exercises i do about three times a week:
    first,
I do the hindu push-up or what others say is really a marine press-up.
my max at this is 24.
Along with this i do what he calls a hindu squat and then i do ordinary sit-ups.
After that i stretch out on the floor and touch my knees with my head without my knees bending.
Then i do ordinary press-ups and finish by keeping my body just off the ground for as long as i can with my head looking straight in front.

Well, i hope this post has cleared things up for you.

actually, here is a useful link : http://www.cbass.com/Furey.htm
