hi im going to set up a website soon dedicated to the paranormal,i will try to put in as much detail on topics as i can, hopefully people will tell me of there stories or post them up on the website themselves with videos and pictures and that,im also going to have a shopping cart place on it as im aware that some people are also into withchcraft and paganism so perhaps if there was a website based in ireland where they could get supplies it would be of some benifit for them.books videos and all sorts paranormal will be for sale.and hopefully if its sucessfull i will organise tours to haunted houses and that,I`ll see how it goes.so i was wondering if i did set up such a website would anyone be bothered or not?im not trying to poach people from this forum onto my website,im just trying to get as much education on the subject as possible so i figure whats the harm in setting up such a website.thank you

I think people can handle a few different sites etc, if your offering goods for sale etc then that is a service not offered on Boards, I think most people here are interested in more than just the Paranormal section and that will keep them with boards due to the size of the memebrship and contributions,
6th has his own site as do the soulsearchers group, but apart from links they don't really sell stuff.
6th does have a section where you can post your stories though!
As regards withchcraft and paganism I dont know anything about that. I guess nobody can stop you and most peole will check a number of places for stuff that interests them anyway.

Hi j2u, as Stoner said i have a site (2 infact). If you are setting them up to put information out there in a way people can make use of great. If its profit you are after best of luck, with so many other good sites out there on the subject you really have to get established and offer something the others dont or be getting alot of traffic.

As for my sites (which are in my signature):

www.6thsensitive.com - I have this as a personal site. I write up about up coming trips, post pictures and information on ones we've done. I also use it to advertise a few of the places we've been and to promote other Irish site. All the advertising is free as i'm trying to build up a sense of community but i'm sure you could look at charging for it.

www.spectralsightings.com - this is my latest site and it is to map out sightings and experiences around Ireland, county by county. People can submit their sightings and get credited for them. I also have space to but in a small bit of advertising and pictures from sites in each county.

These sites are quite amateurish but do just what i want them to do, all i need to do is update them more. Theres plenty of room for more paranormal sites (especially irish ones) and if theres anything i can do to help just drop me a pm.

    All the best with it,

    6th

thanx for the suppport guys,im not setting this site up purely for profit like i said i think there is a need for the paranormal community to get as much info as possible,i hate the way most people in ireland have a religion they believe in(at least i think they do)but yet if you talk about spirits they think your mad .i think that the more the science and news of the paranormal spreads then i reckon the more accepted it will become, regardless of how society accepts it i`ll still try to find out as much as possible.so i think that it could`nt hurt to have a shop and i`ll try my best to charge as cheap as possible for stuff.

Just remember that the paranormal and paganism and wicca are all seperate subjects and if they are to be treated right shouldnt really be throw in together without a bit of concideration.

i think i understand wha you mean, paganism is treated like a religion by a lot of people whereas parnormal is not so much a religion but an are of sciene based muuch around theories rather than fact.i`ll try to be as considerate as possible.thanx
