This is the thread for your favourite actos/actresses who usually seem to only ever get small (even less that supporting actor size) roles in movies.

    1. Keith David - this guy knows how do deliver a funny line.

    2. Brain Cox - appears in a lot of junk (eg The Ringer) but he always does the business.

    1. William Fitchner
    2. Will Patton
    3. Jude Ciccolella
    4. Ron Perlman
    5. Michael Ironside
    6. John Hearde
    7. Saffron Burrows

    Used to think:

    Philip Semour Hoffman
    John C. Reilly
    William H Macy

But they've all sort of made it beyond bit part in the last two years. Can't think of anyone else at the moment who's still a "bit" player.

Michael Ironside!! Well done sir for bringing his name up. His work in verhoevens movies is stellar!
Me i go for the King of The Bit Parts Mr Bruce Campbell.

    J.T. Walsh - he was a legend.

Also, dude, Bit-Part Actor isn't the preferred nomenclature, Character Actor please.

Steve Buscemi seems to steal every movie that gives him more than 5 minutes screen time. I think he's a fantastic actor and should be given much bigger parts.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,206 ✭✭✭gustavo

    Tony Shalioub
    Clifton Collins Jr.
    Jason Lee
    Melora Walters
    and of course Buscemi

I always liked Delroy Lindo. Very good actor. I'd stick him in any movie if i was a director.

    I couldn't agree more.

Another I just thought of was Christopher Walken. He has done a lot of small roles. He was great in "Things to do in Denver when you're dead" and "Pulp Fiction" and a lot of others i'm sure.

Might as well throw Adam Goldberg into the mix!

I was trying to think of some actresses but I'm strugglin. Only ones I can think of who I like are,
    Anna Paquin and
Vanessa Ferlito - she was in spiderman 2, she damn better be in the next one too!

    Peter Stormare

I always really liked him. I was so happy when i found out he was one of the main characters in Prison Break

I'd say Peter Stormare has great fun playing all the strange, evil and deranged characters.

James Hong - whenever you needed a dude instantly identifiable as an Evil Asian baddy/overlord, he's yer Man.

Adam Goldberg - great actor. "That Clint - dominant male mother****er. I hate that **** 'Huh mother****er? Huh?'"

I even liked his line in the trailer for the woeful looking Stay Alive - "I got killed by some.... some woman, man!"

I have to agree 100% here; I've seen him in plenty of bad movies but I've never see him give a bad performance...
The Island is one of the most recent examples of that which springs to mind...
I can't understand how he's still doing those small parts though; has he ever been the main guy in a big film?

Brian Cox also; not nearly in enough big roles... I saw a trailer for Running With Scissors and he's probably the best thing in it (going by the trailer)... Surprised and happy to see him (rumoured to be) cast as Stryker in Wolverine.

Brian Cox is good in "Adaptation" too.

Rade Serbedzija is a great bit-part actor also. He was Boris the Blade in Snatch and Mr. Milich in Eyes Wide Shut.
