    Well,
I’m looking at getting the Intel Upgrade Kit Core 2 Duo E6600 from Komplett (http://komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=311987). I already have the BFG GeForce 7900GTX graphics card (http://www.bfgtech.com/7900GTX_512_PCIX.html) and am a little worried that the graphics card will not fit on the motherboard in the kit. The motherboard has a PCI-E slot but it’s the physical size of the card that is concerning as it has a large size fan. Anybody able to clarify whether the card will properly fit on the board?

Also the motherboard has an onboard sound card, however I have a 5.1 card I’d like to use. Will this cause a problem if I start up with both sound options available?

    Much appreciated
    Pa

I'm not sure about the graphics card but you can should be able to turn off onboard sound in the BIOS menu at startup.

The graphics card will occupy two slots basically the slot directly beneath the PCI-E 16x slot will be taken up by the cooler as well.

Which means you lose one of the PCI-E 1x slots with the graphics card in place, nothing to be worried about really as PCI-E x1 peripherals are still quite rare.

Yes I understand it'l occupy two slots. I'm not overly concerned about that. But if you look at this pic of the motherboard there is very little room next to the pci-e slot what with the heat sink in the back. (I am assuming that the blue expansion slot is the pci-e slot, am I right in thinkin this?). What are the two black expansion slot by the way?

    Thanks

The heatsink is low profile it wont interfere with the graphics card.

The black slots are PCI-E 1x slots, the blue one is the 16x slot for graphics cards.
