    Hello,
I have just moved into a new house and am getting the TV setup. I have the FTA satellite bit done but now I want to get the Irish channels and possibly CH4.
    Truskmore is my nearest transmitter.
Basically Im looking for 4 irish channels from truskmore.
    Attachment not found.
I believe there is a defelector system in the area with the UK stations. Im hoping the ae10.jpg might work.
Can anyone advise me what aerial/aerials to get?
    Thanks
    K

Well for Trusky, you'll need both a VHF Band III aerial for RTE 1 and RTE 2. For TV3 and TG4 you'll need a Group C/D aerial (usually with a green tip at the end).

For the deflector, usually they use Grids/Flyswats/ColourKings but check to see what the neighbours use.

Then it's combining. Again, I wonder if the deflector would need a masthead amp? Also what UHF channels does it use? This is important in deciding what to choose for combining aerials.

eg, assuming the deflector is using Group A and needs amping, you'd need a masthead amp, from there to an A/E combiner with Line pass on A side, and from there to a UHF/VHF combiner with line pass on UHF side.

Note, with Triax 25W-1W amps, they have a VHF bypass which could be used. That together with the Triax A/E combiner woudl do (the A/E combiner will allow VHF signals to pass through on the A side.)

    Thanks byte.
Do I need boat a UHF and VHF aerial for RTE/TV3/TG4?
According to http://www.wolfbane.com/articles/eitv.htm I can get all on UHF.
When I look at some of the houses in the area they have two aerials. One for Chorus and one UHF ( I presume areial ) similar to the one attached.

    Thanks again

Wolfbane lists allocated frequencies, not the actual ones in use. Truskmore as yet does not carry 1 and 2 on UHF. Neither does Kippure, Maghera, Mount Leinster or Mullaganish, and he also has VHF for Spur Hill when it doesn't carry VHF anymore - its all just allocations.
