    To me they appear to be the exact same with the latter having 50w more power.

    I'm annoyed because I ordered the 550w and received the 500w. I couldn't be arsed sending it back to get a replacement, and was going to ask for the difference but then saw it was more expensive :confused:

    That is beyond me.

    Maybe they have a surplus of the 550 Watt models which they are trying to shift?

    I thought that myself, but that pisses me off more because the 550w was in stock when I ordered. I reckon they did it on purpose and banked on me either not noticing, or not being prepared to wait for them to take it back and change it.

    edit: misread your post. I doubt they have a surplus since they're sold out.

    In this case: send it back & demand a refund/your ordered product, or shut up -- no company would "do this on purpose", it's bad for their business!
    Jeez, it's not like they have an agenda against you...

    Not an agenda, but taking an easy way out. 550w sold out so they sent a 500. It's a possibility. If I sent it back I'd have no pc and then have to wait for the 550w to come back in stock. You shut up :rolleyes:
