Picture Format

    I have a Philips 32" CRT TV. Recently the picture format keeps changing when I change channel depending on what format the programme is being broadcast in eg RTE news in 4:9 but Rose of Tralee (I wasn't watching, honest) afterwards was in widescreen so when i flicked this on picture format flicked to widescreen.
    Now up to this week this never happened as I have my picture format on my Sky + box set at 16:9 so picture format never changed even when i changed channel.
    It is really annoying on channel 405 (SSN) as you cannot see some of the straps on screen.
    Anyone know how this can be sorted or is there something wrong with the TV?

    I'm not a 100% sure but I think this could be the tv settings!

    I used to have that problem then I noticed that my video was picking it up in 4:3 so I changed that to 16:9 and happy days :)

    Thanks. Ya I was thinking it could be something to do with my DVD player which is connected to the TV. I was using it over the weekend but it is plugged out since.
    I will plug it in tonight and adjust the settings on it and see will that work.
