Heading to Barcelona in the autumn and need to book an apartment. Its a family holiday - with a 3 yr old in tow - does anyone have any recommendation for a good area of the city to stay in? need to be fairly close to as much as possible and no big desire for night life. Food high on priorities though!!! Better still can anyone recommend good apartments - loads online, but I just would like a recommnedation or two before I book
    Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We stayed in Barceloneta- right on the beach but close enough to walk to Las Ramblas and right beside the metro stop. Not sure when you are going but we were there in late september and it was hot enough to get in the sea.

Great area - close to lots of restaurants etc.

We stayed in this apartment- though not sure if it would be suitable for you- just the one bedroom. Great apartment though and some lovely looking places on the site
