    1)
Great capture, what aperture was that, f/2.8? (and Lens etc)

    2)
First reaction, I was going to suggest a crop, but then I saw the fans/audience. I wouldn't touch it at all.

    3)
The weaker of the three. Nothing really grabs me about this. Unlike the others, there is no story with this shot. Just a learning curve.

The first two, obviously, cracking shots. The sharpness and the placement of the ball in the first one is fab. I love the spectators in the background in the second one, as well as the expressions on the faces of the two blokes on the left.

The strange thing is, I like the third one - but from an artistic viewpoint rather than a sports fan... if it was all blurred then aye it wouldn't be great - but the ball and the glove being still and the rest of him in motion says more to me than a pin sharp, frozen shot. I would only say that it seems a little flat in tone and unfortunately his audience are facing the other way, poor boy!

Thanks for that - (I liked the motion blur in the third one too).

I think the second shot is best as it has the most action and really shows the spirit of the game. Why b/w not colour ? I only ask because I can never decide which of my own shots might look better in b/w. All 3 shots are very good.

I like the second one. 1st and 3rd are not my cup of tea. They are team sports so I would expect other players. imo

The reason why I put them in b/w instead of colour was it was easier than trying to get all those different colours right (bright blue & bright green strips). Also I have been getting more into diff types of conversions lately dutones and silver tinted ones and so on.

The GAA one actually has colour in the dark blue-black of the strip but its intentionally hard to spot. Not even sure if it makes that much of a difference unless you look for it.

    Thanks again for the comments.

Meant to say to Sinecurea shot 1 was :

    Shutter Speed: 1/500 second
    F Number: F/10.0
    Focal Length: 200 mm
    ISO Speed: 200

    with a very dark/slow 80-200mm zoom

Gah. I can't believe you took that shot with that lens - I think that's the same one as mine - means I can't blame crappy pictures on it anymore!

I presume you went tv 1/500 and let the apperature fall where it may?

I like the first 2, and the 3rd is more arty than anything. If it was 1/1000 and all sharp, then it would be cool. You did well to be positioned in the right place for the shot.

    Nice stuff.
