When I click on the link I see Sky with multiroom for €69 but the Sky+ with multiroom is €149, am I missing something..??

BTW - how much is the subscription going up by next month. I currently have the sports package for €54 per month.

Final question for the thicko (me!!) - if you get the multiroom for €69 is that a once off payment or is there an additional subscription fee.

Am I reading this correctly that the offer is for new customers only? The last sentence on the page says "For existing customer queries please call Customer Services on 0818 719 819".

I know 100% that last October when they ran the same thing that existing customers could upgrade to Aky+ for the 69 euro price. I'd be very surprised if it wasn't the same at the moment.

I am interested in getting a sky hd box and sub. I already have a sky plus and sky world package. If i were to move this sky plus to another room will I Then have to pay an extra 15 sub for this on top of hd subscription. Also where the hd box would go already has the 2 cables and telephone needed. If I just changed the boxes I cant see the need for the sky installation charge. As its my first entry any advice would be most welcome

I'd booked SKY + with multiroom last week for €114 (€149-€35 'no broadband' offer). So I rang last night to look for a discount due to the new price of the SKY+ box and was told that there was nothing they could do. So I cancelled my order and then got them to put me through to sales again to reorder.
They first denied any knowledge of the €69 price but then agreed that they could do that offer for 'today only'. I asked about the additional €35 discount as per the broadband offer and they said they couldn't do that.
So I'm being rebooked at the €69 price, but will probably have to wait an extra week for the install which is no big deal for me.

Does anyone know whether these offers are available through local independent installers or only directly from Sky? I am interested in Sky + and multiroom, but also want a sky eye thingy installed upstairs. Also is the 6 month half price offer available through independent installers?

    Thanks

I'm an existing customer and I ordered Sky HD yesterday and they charged me the full whack plus another €125 (€75 installation & €50 because I don't have a phoneline). I asked if the No Broadband offer was still available and she hadn't a clue what I was on about. I'm going to ring back and see if I can get it cheaper based on this new offering (€299 for Sky HD). Surely they wouldn't charge more for existing customers?

  • Moderators, Business & Finance Moderators Posts: 3,816 Mod ✭✭✭✭LFCFan

ok, rang and they say the €299 deal is only available if you order online as seeing as only new customers can use this online ordering, new customers are left paying the full price for the box. Sucks!

i'd tell them to shove their installation and that you want to cancel. i'd imagine they'd do you a deal then

Yet again, the exisiting subscribers suffer.

    Nibbs - I rang the number on the Sky Broadband letter - 081 871 9898, I think it's a Sales number.

LFCFAN - they told me the offer was only Online also, but I told them that on the web page it says 'Existing Customers should ring customer services' and hence the offer was obviously also available to Existing Customers.
They checked with supervisor etc. and eventually agreed to give me the offer for 'today only'.
They actually had a problem with their system last night and could not process the new order and are due to ring me back this evening.

I doubt independents would be interested as they must pay full price for the equipment and then claim back from sky which takes months and even at that point some they dont pay up at all.

ALERT: I am an existing customer and I was going to join on this offer, upgrading to a Sky+. I have a top contact at Sky -BSkyB UK, Birmigham - so called directly and what was I told!? 'Do not take up this offer!' Why? because this is actually for new customers although a few existing customers have been able to get this too... why exactly did sky bring down the price so much? They want new customers who will have to be in a 12 months contract and very soon Sky+, Sky HD, Multiroom subscription (SURPRISE) prices are going to be increased by quite alot as 10% increase only applies to viewing packages! So this is no deal but its only a trap to get customers and then give them no option but pay up! I wasn't told what the increase will be but surely more then the dicount on this offer!

Tony are independent retailers also told about this!? Seems Irish Sky subscribers will be paying for all broadband, free services Sky UK provides!

Well, I have not heard anything about hikes in Multiroom or HD subscriptions yet. But then, we usually don't find out til the last minute.

Can't imagine they'd want to be hiking HD at this stage, there's damn all content in the first place! Unless they're planning on dramatically increasing that?
