Which CAO Choice?

Just a poll to compare boards.ie's student population with the rest of the counrty.

Apparently 75% of students got one of their top 3 Courses.

Lets see if its any different here.

Also, let us know what course you got, where, and what points it cost you.

Got my first choice, Computer Science and Software Engineering in Maynooth at 315 points. Made it with 55 to spare!

Got my first choice, Law in UCD at 495 with 40 to spare!

I got my first choice too,

Economics and Finance in UCD.

Points went down to 465.
My 540 (have no idea how!) cover it.

Hey Emmet, good idea.

Got Product Design in DIT number 1 choice, 370 down from 380 last year. Got it by 45 points.

Also got Priliminary Engineering on my level7 list so I'm not 100% sure what to do. It was 360.

I received my second choice - French and Russian in Trinity. I was eligable for my first choice French and Spanish at Trinity but I wasn't offered a place. I don't mind though as Russian seems more interesting anyway . I don't know what the points were though. Maybe they are featured in the newspaper. All I know is I am very delighted wth my offer and have accepted it.

English and Film Studies in TCD, first choice. Not sure what the points were as I can't find a listing of the TSM courses anywhere. Pure English was 505 so it's likely around that mark.

I don't understand because last year this course was 445, and I only have 350 points! I can't find the points for it but it must have gone down 95 points!!!

Now im not sure I even want to do it!!

Should I do this degree course or do a two year Sound engineering course in Ballyfermot which I have a place on??

Are you able to deferr for two years?!

You're giving up the opportunity to do a very solid BA in Trinity to do a...."sound engineering" course in Ballyfermot?!

I don't think you can defer for two years. Just do whatever you want to do, you can go back and do the other one as a mature applicant later on.
