Where to go on 1st wedding anniversary

    We both work for the same startup business so a 7 or 14 day holiday a no no. It looks like a long weekend is the most we can grab and with it being our 1st anniversary in Sept I wandered where we should go. Oh to top this off, its going to be a surprise.

    I did think about New York but thought it was a bit overkill for just 72 hrs of which 9-10 hrs of it would be in the air. But I suppose it is the city that never sleeps and all that.

    Keeping in mind the time allowed, I would like to get some suggestions from people as to what they think would make a great one to remember.

    Sounds like somewhere in Europe is on the cards, given the time constraints.

    How about Monaco? A relatively short flight, 5 mins in the helicopter from the airport (around 70 Euro each - taxi would be about 40 Euro each). Plenty of reasonable hotels there, despite what you might think.
