    Hello everyone,

I'm going for my provisional licence and was wondering if Ye (in the know) coiuld help me out with a few things.

    1. I'm going to try and start with something like a 125 or something low powered enough so I don't kill Myself, any suggestions on what I should look for?

    2. I'm 22 and should have My provisional in about 2 months, other than that I have no crediable experience to stand on with an insurance company - any idea on what I would be expected to pay with insurance?

    3. Who are the best people to go with for insurance (living in Cork City if that makes any difference)?

Anywho, thats whats worrying Me at the moment, and any help on the above would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks a mil.

    1. Had a chat with John Wheeler from msa-ireland (writes the biking articles in the times) on that subject a couple of months ago. They strongly recommend the Honda CG125 as a great starter bike.

    2. IIRC, the cg125 is group 2. I was recently quoted €1080 by aon for a group 2 bike. At the time I was 23 and living in Dublin. If you go out and get some proper training (and I'd say everyone here will recommend that you do), and pass the Aon BikeSafe assessment you could knock 10-30% off that premium.

    3. There are only two companies in the country that provide motorcycle insurance: AON and Carole Nash. CN won't anyone under 25 without a no claims bonus, so your only option is AON.
