I have a few "piracanta" (spelling)bushes in my garden. This year and last I have had caterpillar problems. I sprayed with a couple of nature friendly products I bought in woodies, they claimed to get rid of this pest but it has not worked. These guys go for the new growth and eat the leading heads of the bush stopping it from growing up high on my wall etc. These little guys produce silk and wrap themselves up by bunching the leaves together. If you touch the spots where they are they move out and drop off the leaf with a silk line like a spider.
Anyone any idead of how the get rid of them?
