is one that I remember always is an ad for Blood Donations that would always be on ITV when I was sick from school back in the 80s

It was set in Liverpool and featured these 3 guys going off to give blood. There was one black Caribeean type guy, another old sea-salt kind of sailor type guy in a wooly jumper (imagine Captain Ship from Cockelshell Bay) and a 3rd guy whom I can't recall anything about.

They would sing "In your Liverpool homes" (?) as they walked towards the hospital and after giving their blood the black guy would say to the nurse "Where's that Cup of tea you promised me?!?!?" That one always killed me for some reason :)

I've been looking for it for years but no luck yet. :(

Anyway does anyone else have a retro clip they just can't track down despite weeks/months/years of occasional searching?

Yeah, I know the feeling. I've been looking for a particular old children's film. One of those Children's Film Foundation ones from the 60s/70s, called, I think, Professor Popper's Problem, about some scientist who gets shrunk. I think the fact that you can't find it makes you want it more.

Check out "Blood Donor: The Spinners (Edit) 1976"

Unfortunately they've edited the 'Where's that cup of tea?' comment, but I'm almost positive that's the ad you mean.

Yup it will fly in. I loved 'man in motion' theme tune from St. Elmo's Fire. That is definately the theme song to my youth! :)
