    Hi,
Can I delete .log files and .dat files from "documents and settings" or "system 32" and "windows" folders?
    thanks:D

Better not to, they might come in useful and normally not .dat files unless you want to render your computer useless. :)

As Ruu said defo not the .dat files but you should be safe enough getting rid of the log files...which generally dont take up too much space.

You must have some error prone system! :P My apache and Filezilla logs add up to a bit alright. But for the most part log files are small and safe to delete. Though not sure why you would want to.

If there's no errors and no problems, i suppose there's no point keeping them!

The log files are causing fragmentation of the disk.

I doubt it. ;) They might be fragmented themselves but they're not the cause. Delete if you want, and then run a defragger.

Thats what I ment they themselves are fragmented
