I suppose it depends on a lot of things, if you have a few maniacs at your table rebuying all the time its a bit of a double edged sword, on the one hand you will find there is a lot of chips at your table and if you are catching cards you will build up a nice chip stack early if you are not getting the cards you will just have to be a rocky mcrock and wait for them before you try and attempt to play any poker.

Also even with your good hands be prepared for a suckout.

suckouts seem to be order of the day

Do wild stuff. Make a hand and go all-in. Flop a flush draw - go allin etc etc.

    Try to build a stack.

I assume this is internet (PokerStars?).

My strategy is to fold everything until the one hour break except AA, KK, AK, QQ. Then try to get it all-in, either by calling an all-in, or by calling only and waiting for an all-in. With luck you should have four times your starting chips at the break.

People will play a lot of suit cards against you and connect cards, so I wait for a big hand, AK/AA/KK/QQ and sometimes JJ/1010, but I only play these with big raises preflop or all in action, I might flat call with small pairs and suit connect cards to hit a set or flush draw etc.

During the rebuy period you've got to play very aggressive with these hands and take down big pots, but once you get your stack to over double the starting stack, you should play your normal game, as you can only loose chips at this stage as its the max you can rebuy back too.

But in general I play tight until I get a hand, if there's a lot of big stacks at the table I top up to the max and hope to take down a big pot. Once it gets to the freeze out I try and play my normal game.

If you can rebuy straight away then do and see as many cheap flops as possible and be aggressive with you good hands. Bingo.

It depends on the game, in something like the Pokerstars 55k there is a lot of value in overspending to try to get a big stack at the break, I usually slow down here if I get to 11k or so. In the Fitz 20 rebuy it is harder to get a big stack and there aren't unlimited rebuys so you have to be a bit more careful.

Even if you are trying to play "well"/tight you will have to call for all your chips more loosely than in a normal game: for example UTG shoves for 100BB it is folded to you in the BB, you have AJ. Against most UTG players you should insta call in the 10r on Stars.

If - as I suspect - you might be looking at the $18 rebuy on PPP for a WSOP seat. This already has 780 runners. It's going to be mad. In a situation like this I think you have to decide what it's worth to you as in a normal rebuy you'd target maybe One mistake and a top up. As usually the money starts at 3 x buy in. But the event tonight is only going to pay two, three or four places. Less than 0.5% of the field. In this case you might decide that a crapshoot like this with admittedly a great prize is maybe worth risking $100 Therefore approx 10 rebuys or 9 plus top up. I suspect in this tournament however the madness all in fest will not abate after the rebuy period. I normally like to be sitting on at least 4 x starting stack by the time it hits FO. Tonight I think it will require 10x to be in with a fighting chance.
