Couldnt tell you mate. Your best bet is to ask a gardai . If they're unsure you might aswell just go up north and buy one anyway. Just dont go out playing rambo and drawing attention to yourself;)

All I can say is I'm working on it lads give me time :)
but we are looking at sales of rifles in another year or so if airsoft works out in ireland. You need to register an Airsoft gun as if its a real rifle at the moment which makes them very hard to get a hold of legally! Thats why the first rifles we get will all be registered to the company and not to an individual. We are going to get MP5's and Ak47's with folding stock and I've a few M4's and sniper rifles going on order and a large support weapon to for the FSG (fire support group)

They are still seen as sporting equipment which allows us import them in bulk.

Already have one and it just rules! but its close quarter weapon if there ever was one. its perfect for room clearing but since we wont be doing much of that we are sticking with the MP5's with the folding stock and AK47's short barrel not sure if its got a folding stock or not.

And I'm getting an M4 the special forces one for myself :)

well when you set up an urban area, when ever it is, you should get some.
i'll even pay you extra to keep one away from all the people who won't respect it and will brake it for me

As of the 1st August 2006 the Criminal Justice Act has come into play thus legalising all Airsoft guns with a muzzle power of less than 1J.

This sounds too good to be true.
Sorry for sounding like a prick but do you have anything to back this statement up?

If airsoft weapons are legal here now, who do I talk to to get a couple?

Looking at a couple of handguns (Glock/Sig) and a couple of AK47 or M4's.

If you can put me onto a supplier I would be grateful.

You can order within the EU and not have to worry about being taxed and the shipping is cheaper, but the prices are generally more exspensive for guns.

    Some decent EU online stores:

    www.airsoftscotland.co.uk
    www.campobase.co.uk
    www.airsoftarmory.co.uk

Or you can order from HongKong or Japan, the airsoft guns themselves are very competitively priced and they tend to sell alot more of the obscure items available but the customs office often tax the shipments raising the cost overall. Some of the better sites are:

    www.wgcshop.com
    www.dentrinity.com
    www.uncompany.com
    www.gunsnguys.com
    www.tokyo-model.com.hk

I wonder how long before an airsoft shop is opened over here. It'd be great to be able to walk into a shop and come out with an AEG :)

I've been looking for the glock 18c EBB (does the "ebb" mean it's plastic, and if so, is the quality worse because it's plastic?) by Tokyo Marui for a good price, but all I could find was that gun for e100+ on numerous sites (maybe because some are metal??? I don't really know). But, I found an official site of Tokyo Marui and the gun comes to a total price of e49 including shipping. Is this a different gun I'm looking at? It's fully automatic electric gun, do you think I've found a steal?
Has anyone bought/used this gun that can tell me what it's like?
Anyone give me some pics of the gun?

    Help appreciated.

EBB means 'Electric Blow Back' Gun. Its uses batteries instead of gas or a spring. Tokyo Mauri are one of the best makers of airsoft guns, so id say its pretty good.
Heres a link to the gun, theres a pic there too. http://www.tokyohobby.net/store/product_details.php?p=469
    Hope that was some help,

hmmm... how powerful would an electric pistol be though, im guessing because the space is more limited, the motor is gonna be smaller etc...?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 149 ✭✭-Strawbs-

I dont really know, never used one. But its probobly handier than gas, since you can just charge it

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 960 ✭✭✭Harekin

A Gas Blow Back really gives you the feel of the realism tho...look out for a TM Desert Eagle Hard-Kick.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,674 ✭✭✭Skatedude

i just got the deagle tm from wolf armories, and its incredible, extremly powerful and well made, it is plastic, but you can bearly tell and i do intend to upgrade it to the full metal casing later.
The recoil feels so much more realistic then my aeg ebb gun, ok, because its gas you need to recharge it more then the electric, but the gas is stored in the magazine clip so no problem if you get a few extra mags anyway.

    nice gun!
whats the story with gas anyway? where exactly do you get more?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,674 ✭✭✭Skatedude

the gas you can easily get from most suppliers of airsoft, the tm deagle uses the aerolsol can of green gas

    ie
    http://www.wolfarmouries.co.uk/airsoft/bb/product.asp?page=product&id=ULTRAAIRGAS

You refill the gun the same way you refill a lighter,But make sure you use the proper gas for the gun,

some gas guns do use small desposible co2 cylinders instead

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 960 ✭✭✭Harekin

DONT use that gas. The plastic slide cant handle it and its not supposed to be used in temperatures of over 15 degrees.
