Franz Ferdinand playing Dublin August 31st!!

I assume it's only because Keane have pulled out - I dunno, maybe Vodafone were gonna stage two gigs on the same day - but Franz Ferdinand are playing the Vodafone TBA gig in Dub on the 31st, thursday week!!

A friend of mine just got a phone call saying they'd won two tickets. Venue to be announced on Thursday. Anybody know where it's on?

is far as i know this isnt just open to vodafone customers. if you remember vodafone had alot of ppl handing out flyers about their first gig.. if you enterd that you were put on the service.. which just sends you some info to enter the comp

i just got a call saying that i won two tix. im much pleased! i was up in dublin for a couple of days anyway so im just going to stay on..
im not on vodafone and still got tickets. you register on the site so you can be contacted when they do the gigs, and they sent a txt today saying to text back the answer to a question relating to franz (it was pretty basic) and you get a txt back saying they'll get back to you by the end of the day which they did..pretty easy! have to pick up the tickets on thursday arvo between a certain time..
really looking forward to seeing them before i head back to the southern hemisphere..

I got the call too, the guy was telling me the time and place but he didnt know exactly where the pickup point was, I wont say what hes told me but if someone cuold PM me and confirm the exact pickup point and if it is Thursday and not Wednesday Id be most grateful.

I know the time(s) i have to be there but the guy didnt know specifically the address he just said its the 'so and so' in 'so and so' (i wont say exactly what he told me obviously on here).

Im just slightly confused and need to leave work early to pick up but need to know which day/exactly where, this is not a blag, as you will know you have to take ID to the pickup.

Anyway help...ta pls

All i can say is that its on Friday afternoon not Thursday and the Secret Location is Southside Dublin City Centre. And not to bother showing up if you don't have an invite because you won't get in.

Keane was suppost to do it but he is apparently gone back into rehab of some sort so they got Franz at short notice. There is only one Gig not two separate ones.

oh ok. I was given the vaguest location in a certain part of the city for pick up. I cant remember if it was weds or thurs, i assumed weds but guess they want to keep it as secret as poss so thurs it must be.

The guy that called me didnt even know where the exact pick up was.

The guy told me the pick up point was Temple Br information Centre and to pick them up between 2 and 5. Presume the gig is at 6 because of the short notice of finding a suitable venue, and its probably cheaper

i received a phone call earlier today while i was in work, i had to run to the toilets to take the call. the guy told me that i had won two tickets and backstage passes for the gig i'm going to be contacted tomorrow about collecting the stuff

i wasnt told about the photo id, i must remember to bring some with me.

argh.
got the text this morning saying where to pick the tix up..and i need photo id! which i dont have cause im only up in dublin for a couple of days from limerick and its pure coincidence that im up here ..i dont drive and the only photo id i have is a passport which i dont carry round with me!!
i have all these things with my name on it though with me..social services card,laser card and a printed reciept from the hostel im staying in so hopefully that will do!!

Aye, it was from a private number.

The gig was pretty alright. Nothing special, but worth the bother, I suppose.
