Diet Smaller Meals 300kcals each?

Reading alot about nutrition and diet lately.
Daily diet goes something like this

8am:Brekkie: Bowl of Porridge, banana, honey and Yogurt...yum washed down with some berroca
    11am: Apple
1Pm Lunch: Tuna and tomatoe sambo on brown bread
    3.30pm: Apple
6pm:Dinner: Piece of meat, spuds and veg
    8pm:Fruit

Drink about 2 litres of water also during the day.

I'm 84kgs at the moment and do alot exercise, mix of resistance and cardio so I wreckon around 3,300 kcals should be what I'm aiming towards.

Alot of what I am reading now recommends maybe 5-6 smaller meals of 300kcals each? What sort of meal would be 300 kcals and have sufficient carbs/proteins/fats? Especially considering that I'm in an office all day so cant really cook for myself?

Also, if my Basal Metabolic Rate is around 1,800, I presume that some of the meals are going to have to be larger to provide for enough energy to get through the day sufficiently?

    Anyone any advice??????

ye 5-6 meals a day is the way to go but unless you are quite small and do little to no exercise 300cal a meal is far to low. Baically workout your daily calorific needs and divide it by the amount of meals you are going to eat in a day and bobs your uncle you have your rough guide to ho many calories you should be eating per meal.

However if you do like meals of 300cal size just eat 12 meals a day or graze

Your meals are of very different calorific content. I get by on 6x300 or 5x350kcal, with about 200kcal extra in the day in coffee or the odd biscuit. I now know I really do have a slow metabolism, I cycle 9miles+ per day at a decent pace and do weight training 2-3 times a week. I do not go hungry at all with those even meals.
Looks like your breakfast could be 600kcal, then your apple is about 60-80kcal, I would try and even things a little.

At weekends I drink like a fish and sometimes eat like a horse, not ideal but it is working for me.

Yep I am going to start now. I lost almost 3 stone in the last 18 months, now my weight is OK but I am not noticing the same strength gains I had at the start (I know they should decrease, but not almost stabilize).

Cheers, I reckon I have lost 3 1/2+ stone of fat, since I have built muscle and have been 12stone for a few months yet am getting thinner, i.e. loosing fat and building muscle at the same rate.

I will take your other advice on board. thanks
