Hey guys im heading to the US soon and was gonna pick up 2 DS lites there (one for me and my bro) and 2 copies of mario kart. Will US DS work over here with our games? IS there any region coding at all?

    Thank a lot

IIRC, DS games are region free.

    USB ftw.

Picked up my Lite stateside along with a car charger with usb connector.

Yes. You can always just buy a charger when you get back. The games are region free.

In my experience, USB charging is quite a bit slower than mains charging.

Best bet is to just get an American to Irish converter for the two pin plug and bobs your uncle!

Don't expect to be able to play wifi with other friends who have the game though. I've found it's difficult to play multiplayer with a US and EU cart. Online play is fine though.

Does anyone know if the gamestop offer is still on for the ds lite?

Where you trade your ds and charger, and get a lite for €80....

Not if the rated input for the US power brick is 110V.

    Safety First.

Strange that, I've never had any such problems, and a good few of my games are imports, probably just issues with specific games...

New Super Mario Bros. with one Irish cart and one US cart didn't work. We could only do download play. Both DSes were EU ones.

i got a DS and m delighted but wheres the thumb stylus and where can i buy the orignal thumb stylus which came with the old DS

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,386 ✭✭✭Attol

The thumb stylus didn't come with the original DS. Only the pen stylus.

There was a thumbstrap with the original DS, but with most people I knew it was of little use, and in my case anyway, it ended up scratching the screen really bad thanks to a little manufacturing defect I didn't spot before jumping into mario 64...

Hope it did, that's where I got mine from.

They ditched it for the Lite though, I don't think many people were using it, I know I never do.

Think they dropped it before then.
I didn't get one with my old Mario Kart pack anyway...

Cool, got mine day of launch so don't know, it was pretty useless to be honest I could never get the hang of it.

That's crazy. Never heard of it before. My bad. I started working with them in September though so maybe that's why I never saw them?

It's a horrible strap thing with a lump of plastic on it that was probably designed for the original(dire) Metroid prime control scheme.
