For all those addicts out there who can't get enough poker and want to play even in work, try http://www.gotomypc.com

It basically gives you remote access to your home pc from any other pc with an internet connection. It isn't affected by firewalls etc as it's just an outgoing internet connection or something like that.

There's a 30 day free trial, I set it up last night and have been playing Party at work this morning. :D ( obviously you need a semi private workstation ). There's a very slight delay, but decent enough to play 1 table at a time.

It took about 10 mins to set up, and you need to leave your home pc on and connected to internet ( so you'll probably need broadband )

Not sure about the one above but this is trustworthy and free (basic features but more than enough to get access to your pc) i use it to get access to files at home when im in work. Anyway its www.logmein.com and you can reduce the quality of the graphics to speed up the connection to avoid lagging but if youve broadband then you wont have to worry about it you should be able to play 1-2 games at a time depending on your pc specs.:)

I got a mate to check out the security and he said it looks fine. These guys are targetting big companies for business, with the idea that people can work on their office pc while at home or travelling (rather than skiving while at work) so I reckon they should be fine.

if the port it uses for remote access is blocked at your work firewall it still won't work.

getting to your home network isn't that difficult, find out what ports are open outbound have your router/firewall at home listen on one of them ports and bobs your uncle.

    no fancy software needed.

VNC is the best at this IMO, the only problem can be the having a dynamic IP address that changes all the time, but this can be worked around with DNS addresses and DNS address updating software.

I think the majority of routers these days come with dyndns

Does Remote Desktop Connection have firewall issues? It would seem like the most logical option as it is included free with Windows XP.

gotomypc.....I seen the ads when living in Canada.
No fecking way would I trust them, their ads alone are laughable.
Im sure the software is fine but anything that caters for idiots that much cannot be completely secure

RDP doesn't have "firewall issues" but if a company blocks 3389 outgoing then yes you're going to have an "issue"

Still say www.logmein.com is a better product, its free, easy to use, fast, reliable and secure. Dosent matter what firewall your using, all you do is download the program once at both computers and the you just go to logmein and login and connect through the browser. you dont need any ip address info or nothing just access to the browser.

Ive tried using VNC and one or 2 others and i can tell you for sure that logmein is so much easier because you dont have the hassle or firewall issues or ip addresses which can be very fustrating and confusing to setup unless youve a decent idea of what your at.

There are tons of applications that are used with dyndns but yes I'm pretty sure the last few router's I've installed for people have had an option for dyndns pretty sure netgear/linksys have this built into all there lower level BB routers now.

You just pop in your dyndns.org username/password and the entry you want to be updated mybb.mine.nu for example and it updates everytime the IP changes automatically.
