How is my play here? Myself and the BB have clashed a lot, and I have been quite aggresive. He has snapped off a few of my continuation bets on the turn and the river. He has made some large bluffs in response to some of my continuation betting, one of which I called with 2nd pair on the river. He showed K high.

I think I played the hand wrong. By check calling the turn did I kill any future action? What is the best line to take to leave him open for a large bluff on turn or river.. he is well capable of it

I have 500, villain covers me.

    Im in SB with KK.
    Villain is BB.
    Folded to me.
    I make it 18.
    Villain calls

Flop (36): 6 of Clubs, 5 of Spades, King of Hearts
    I bet 22
    Villain calls.

    Turn (80): Jack of Hearts
    I check call 36

    River (152): King of Spades
    I bet $150.00
Villain folds after a long thought...

Check-calling the turn and betting the river is quite a strong line and the villian can't play without a hand. If you check-raise the turn, given the action that has gone before, the villian could think that you're making a move, trying to tackle his attempted float. If he is capable of making big bluffs he could come over the top with nothing.

    Just a thought...

If he has been prone to play back at you on the turn and river then I don't see why you stop betting on fourth street. You don't want this hand to appear out of the ordinary. He may smell a rat.

Agree with this, if you have been two or three barrel betting then I would keep going.

If he calls the turn then I check the river to look like Im giving up on the hand.

Once you check call the turn I think you should check again on the end and give him a chance to bluff.

yeah, i really played it quite bad i think. i fully agree with this line (marq and pillows). By the river i was fuming i had messed up the turn.. i kinda went for the overbet hoping he'd call with something like 99.

Would you call with 99 given that action?
    ;)

I think there is two possible course of actions here, either lead each street or check each street. Checking will make the most out of a bluff happy opponent. The way you played it means its almost impossible for him to bluff you on the river, yet you have signalled a big hand. Its very unlikely he has a big hand (and even if he does he will probably putthe chips in himself) so I would be inclined to slowplay it.

i would lead on every street here and would make a rather larg lead on the turn making him think i dont want a caller and that im trying to buy the pot.
