    Hero $270
    Villain $150

Villain is steaming I think, he got dogged by the table donk a few hands previous, top set vs. rivered T-high flush, money in on the turn. Villain is a bit passive in general but has a wide preflop raising range (tighter in EP, very loose if he opens on the button) and plays alot of pots.

Villain raises to $6 in MP
Hero calls $6 in CO with 6 6
    Everyone else folds.

    $15 Flop: 8h, 8c, 9s
    Villain bets $10
    Hero calls $10

    $35 Turn: 8h, 8c, 9s, 9c
    Villain checks
    Hero bets $25
    Villain calls.

    $75 River: 8h, 8c, 9s, 9c, 6d
    Villain checks,
    Hero ???

How much do I bet? How often do I check behind? Villain has about $110 remaining on the river.

I think you have to check. You might get a bluff out of JT but I think every hand you beat folds if you bet the river.

i would bet this river becuase of his check .i dont see him having a 9 there and checking it to you and even though i dont think he will fold an 8 often enough ,a combination of the chances him folding an 8 (very low) and him calling with over pairs /cards(much higher) should make the bet +EV .
havent really done the maths on this but i think if you bet 30-35 there oyour giving him something like 3.5:1 odds on his call.with thoes odds he will never fold an 8 but what you have done is increased the likelyhood of him calling with over pair + A high.i think that should be good enough.again not too sure though.

I like an overbet on the end. I push here sometimes, I've been called in situations like this with A high when the villian thinks im pushing him off a split
