Have you tried getting a quote from the bigger shipping companies, Fed Ex, UPS or DHL? I think they all do freight. Best of luck.

If its all backpacking stuff or smaller stuff, have a look at these guys. Never used them but they advertise in Backpacker magazine etc and are Irish based which is a plus as most of these companies tend to be UK based. Ship using UPS and FedEx from what I can see.

I'm in the exact same position at the moment, DHL and those larger freight companies are SO expensive. I'd say give it a miss.
I sent some stuff home using Australia post before - you can send it by air (which is quite dear if you have heavy stuff) or by Sea (which is less expensive but takes up to 3 months to get home). Which is fine if its not urgent stuff or pressie's or anything.

You can buy boxes and stuff in the post office or else just get your own box and fill it up (but remember whats in it for filling out customs forms) and then bring it in and send it.

I used Australia Post to send home some boxes of clothes - very cheap if you send by sea. Takes a couple of months I think. Depends on what you want to send really.
