Wireless internet problem!!! please help

    I have Just purchased a hp laptop i got a wireless modem with it as the old one i had was just normal!

    i plugged it in and set it up it does says its connected in the task bar but i can get web sites to load up for me i have tried all the stpd it said to do!

    can anyone help me!
    the make of the old modem was creative and the new one is Sweex i am on UTV broadband!

    i had the old one connected straight to the computer and i thought i could do the same with the new one only this time have my laptop wireless too!
    please help! thanks

    Sweex make a range of different products. Some of them can replace your existing "modem", some of them work in conjunction with it. Post the exact model number and someone may be able to give you useful advice.

    (And don't call your problem "Wireless internet problem" when you haven't even gotten the wired part of the system running, or some hyper vigilant moderator will move it to the wrong forum without reading it).
