Anyone know of any "local" (read: Ireland) suppliers of POR 15? I've a few spots I want to address.
    Cheers

I have done a lot of looking but have not found POR-15 anywhere in Ireland, most people have never even heard of it. I got some from Frost Automotive in the UK but the paint was dear and the shipping to was very dear. I believe it was 16 euros for 1 small tin of paint . Relatively speaking the shipping would work out a lot cheaper if you were buying a larger number of items. So perhaps a bulk buy for boards members might be an idea?

Also if some could be brought in from the States it would probably work out a lot cheaper but there might be hassle with import duty etc.

yeah, I saw it on Frost's website, added it to basket, then went to checkout where the shipping nearly came to as much as the product!! So total of 38 euros (ish) for 1 litre....
    Any good alternatives out there?

    Hi Guys,
I've bought from Frost and yep, their postage is crazy so make it a big order.! The reason is they courier the stuff, if they'd use the post office instead it'd be a lot cheaper.
    Keep well,
    Torq.

P.S. I bought the dinitrol rust killer, it's great.

It is very good stuff though. I used it on some rust over a year ago and there's no sign of it returning. I have seen rust painted with "Hammerite" which came back within a couple of months.

I reckon surface prepartion before painting is the key to success with POR-15. I always use "marine clean" and "metal ready" before painting. I think there is a POR15 starter kit which includes a small tin of the paint + the above two solutions.
