Webcam help needed - video not working

    Hi,

    I have a non branded webcam with built in speaker. I need to record some videos with sound.

    I installed Logitech software to work with it.

    On the screen, the video works fine, as does the audio. However, when I record the video - just the sound plays, there is no video even though it has saved a frame as a picture to represent the file.

    Maybe I am not using the best software for this task. I need to record videos with sound to use in a powerpoint presentation. The drivers for both the video and audio seem to be okay. Any ideas are welcome.

    Thanks
    Jen

    A few suggestions;

    1) Run the Logitech uninstaller it will prompt with a repair or remove option try the repair.

    2) The video codec for decoding the video may be corrupted or not present though that's sounds somewhat unlikely - does the video play in Windows Media Player ?

    3) Go to Logitechs website & in the download section locate your webcams make & model and download the latest software for it and install it. (Be sure to uninstall the older software beforehand)

    4) Have you tried recording the video with Windows Movie Maker instead of the Logitech software ?
