Right, so, I wasn't there, but this thread will provide a place for post-trip discussion rather than shoving it all on page 7 of the other thread.

By Report I assume you mean our personal experiences as well as tec. reports.

I dont have any tec. report and nothing of interest showed up in any of my photos on digital camera. I have to get other ones developed but dont hold out much hope there is anything on them either. Therefore I can only give an account of my personal experience and so here it is.

On entering the castle there was no immediate reaction for me. On my first walk around I frist entered the entrace hall to the tower. In the entrance hall I felt what could be described as an energy which seemed to me come straight down the spiral staircase and sort of flow into the Entrance Hall. As I stood on the stair case I felt that the energy was stronger and seemed to get stronger the futher I went up it.

On the first floor of tower there was to me what could be described as a sitting room. Large fireplace, chairs etc. I felt nothing really within this room only a bit of a draft which was coming from the fireplace. Again as i stood closer to the stair case I felt an energy, when I walked away from the stair case into the First Floor this energy went away.

On going up the stairs to the second floor (bedroom 1) I felt the energy on the stairs was much stronger. When I entered the bedroom I felt almost instantly a man walking or pacing the floor. Later on that night I spent some time in this room and felt this man very strongly. I got the mental image of a tall very thin man with a long neck, facial hair like a mushtash and thining hair line, almost bald on top. He was a well dressed person. Hard to give an age but at guess I would have said between 30-35. He seemed to pace the room. Saw movement from the corner I was sitting across the end of the bed towards the rocking chair on far side of room. At one point I felt he was standing in corner near window where I was seated and he just starred at me. I got the impression he knew we were there but had no real interest in us. He had other things on his mind, worring about something.

The top floor bedroom had a different stair case to it. when I entered the top bedroom I only felt very faint energy. It felt this room belonged to a woman. Did not get any mental imagery to this woman only that it felt like it was a woman. I sat here for a while also later on in this room and got a faint smell of flowers, a soft feeling within the room again a female sence.

The end bedroom of extension part of the castle I got a smell of insence like what is used in a church. This smell grew stronger and stronger into the smell of flowers. We set up trigger objects within this room. The others have the results of that. While sitting in this room later on that evening I felt a light coldness go across my face a few times. this room felt almost dead to me.

This is the most strange and most distrubing part for me. I was outside onto what I would call a patio to have a smoke. I was on my own on this occasion. I saw a movement and got a strong metal image of a thing almost animal (in human form) crawling on the side of what would be a bedroom window. It looked around at me and scurried back and then scurried back towards me. I dont mind saying completly felt fear of this. The mental image was what I can only describe as the the girl out of the film "The Ring" Hair over the face. Very scraggy looking. Hence christened by 6th later as scraggy. I got the impression or feeling that this enity (I thought maybe female) was extremely interested in what we were doing inside the castle. That it was of negative feel and could easliy trick you. to me it was someone or something that would and wanted to play on your fears. All it needed was an invite. It wanted a challenge. It was very intelligent in all aspects, it was very well clued in. It did not need a floor to walk on. It moved fast and like a spider would. It could climb and manipulate its body into what ever position it wished. I felt it followed us where ever we went in the castle peering through the windows wanting in. Needless to say Scraggy was not getting an invite from me.

At one stage of the night in the last bedroom of the extension. I got a Mental Message from scraggy "Tell Them I Want to Play" but I have to honestly admit by this stage this could have and probally was my own fear taking over what I was feeling and sencing. I did not feel the presence of scraggy leave altough weaker until we left the castle grounds the following day.

I have only one regret and that is that I allowed my fear to overtake a situation and that I had not got the balls to try and make some sort of contact with scraggy.

I am not going to say what other memebers of the group felt or said to me. I feel they will tell you that themselves.

All in all for my first investigation it was brilliant. Thanks to all the guys for having me along and letting me keep my torch on when I got to scared.

I'll try and go into some more detail later on when I get home from work. For now I'd like to echo what 6th and kshiel have already said, the night went very well, thanks to everyone who came along. We are thinking of another trip to Ross again on the 4th of November if people want to keep that in mind, altough that's not confirmed as yet.

The sender/reciever experiment we tried seemed to go really well, from our end anyway. The object we chose should be quite distinctive and easily matched against any descriptions we get back. I won't reveal any more about it untill we hear back from our recievers, hopefully they'll post up descriptions over the next day or two.

Also, did anyone else get covered in insect bites ?

Lads they are fleas, and I have bites all over me, got most of them last night, so i dumped all my bedding etc into the washing machine etc.

The place must be full of them if we all brought one home, I though maybe I got one from their dog but I guess they were in the house.

I specifically didn't read any of the reports thus far so I may be completely off the mark with what I thought I received but here goes!

I couldn't actually see any definite object, just saw a shadow of something, I think maybe something cylindrical and metallic but not sure about that, either a box or a cylinder. Anyway, I could definetly get the shadow of an object but couldn't really see it in full view but whether that's the limit of my ability I don't know.

Also got a feeling of cold across my face and shoulders, like a breeze or some such, even though I was sitting in a warm room so I'm guessing you guys were outside when you did the object sending.

So, dying to hear if I'm anyway close -keep us updated!

I pmd 6th with what I got, so am waiting to see what the object was! I gave a list of stuff, I couldnt filter to one thing. We will see if it was just my own mental garbage or not.:D

Anyway, back to the report.

I've only quickly flicked through photos and video and stuff and haven't seen anything yet, if I spot anything I'll post it up straight away.

Kshiel has summed up everything pretty well already I think. I too felt the same energy when entering the bottom of the tower (having felt nothing when entering the extension). There was a very strong feeling in the lower room, altough it didn't seem to be associated with any particular presence or event. While it didn't seem in anyway nasty or menacing, it did seem very heavy and hard, almost as if life was very tough there and this energy was a summary of what life was like in general there.

Climbing to the next floor I immediatly felt a presence (maybe a youngish girl, 8-10 years old) in the room over at the leftmost corner as you enter from the staircase. There was a cradle there (which looked eerily like a coffin :eek: ) but I don't think it was associated with that, in fact the cradle seemed odd and out of place. Later on that night while sitting in the same room but the corner diagonally opposite the staircase, I got a strong impression of someone sitting in that same chair. It seemed like someone, possibly a maid sitting down and doing some menial task and looking aroung the room content and satisfied with their days work.

Moving up on to the second floor (1st bedroom) I again immediatly felt something. It seemed quite like the feeling from the ground floor room, but stronger and more intense, it seemed like it actually was a presence. As I waited in the room and wandered around, I got distint impressions of it being both in a rocking chair over to the left of the room, and standing by the bed leaning a hand against it (4-post bed with rail around the top). Later that night I had the same impression of him pacing back and forward along the side of the room nearest the door, I got the feeling that he was aware of us, and not particularly happy we there either, but he was more concerned about other things. Kshiel's description is pretty much exactly what I was thinking, altough I would add that he seemed kind of 'grey', he was possibly quite ill which may also explain why he seemed so thin.

The top bedroom on the floor above that meant nothing to me really, it did seem calm and placid, but I mainly think that for me it seemed like that compared to the room below.

Most of the extension also meant very little to me. There was one room that I know others had some experiences in, but I'll leave all that to them to explain because everytime I went in there I had been hearing about other peoples experiences and I think that clouded mine. I am convinced there was something very unusuall around it, the room just felt very strange and I had a hard time concentrating and focusing or clearing my mind.


edit: I realise there's a dissapointing lack of anything firm and objective there, and it's dissapointing to me too, but I don't know anyway of verifying stuff like that at the moment. EMF meters and the like don't really seem to pick up anything and while cameras and voice recorders seem to get something the odd time, it's very hit and miss (mainly miss).

Yep, he mentioned the walkie talkie on the other thread anyway, presume the camera's his too. Hope that recording turns up, I've been looking forward to hearing that. I'm sure someone just stuck it in their bag by mistake and it'll turn up soon, if not, it's a long drive back up there.

So...

Okay, at 4PM Saturday (America Time Zone) I spent a very quiet 30 minutes alone, letting my mind blank out.

What I saw -
1) a very large window
2) a brooch in someone's hands - a blue jewel surrounded by ornate gold.
3)wrought iron railing giving way to some sort of brass decorative item.
4) a brass bell - small, being rung by someone's hand
5) a cell phone with someone's picture on it - a male with short dark hair, wire rim glasses.

Am I even close?

Someone PM me if you don't want to give it away to everyone else. I need to know!

Yep that's far too long to wait, I know he's dying to hear how it went aswell so once it's all settled I can get a message to him how it went.

No new ones for me, none since sunday.

No new ones for me since Sunday either. Went to the chemist and asked one of the women there and she said yes fleas can bite. they will stay in warm places like bed clothes, carpets, in your hair behind your ear etc. So special stuff for hair was bought (just in case) and I stunk for a whole day of this stuff, really bad. She recommened using tea tree shampoo afterwards for a while as it is a natural insect repellent.

New item for paranormal investigations insect repellent or flea powder.:rolleyes:

If Stoner got fleas from anywhere he got them from petting that mange ridden half starved dog for ten minutes in Virginia.

Seems to be mostly the smokers affected by the way... there were lots of those nasty little midges/midgets around on that little patio.

Can you please explain more about what you meant by he seemed grey? Is that an epression referring to him looking sickly or was that color somehow associated with him by a feeling you got or an aura about him?
Also, for those who saw him, what time of day was that?

He was a good dog, and flea free.

Not an expert on fleas, however for most of my childhood I got them once a year. We would go to visit my mothers second cousin in Wexford where three brothers lived alone. We always came back with fleas. And we always got large red bites, we all react to fleas bites in that way, we get it from my fathers side.
anyway I have flea bites all over me, they are up high too. Dog fleas dont stay on people for too long, but i have about 25 bites. Also many things will bite you down low etc, but these bites range from my neck to my feet!!!
I didn't smoke and the dog was all over you too monkeyfudge, you have the snotty clothes as proof LOL.

I'd bet Monkeyfudges video recorder and walkie talkie that they are fleas.

I mailed the guys in Ross Castle about it just now, hope I didn't jump the gun with anyone? but it's done now

It was more of a physical greyness. He reminded me of my friends father who died from cancer many years ago. While he was sick he had a kind of grey, hollowed out look, and that was what I kept thinking off.

I think it would have been about 1am (should have really kept better note ), while I had been aware of him in the room earlier in the day, that was when I was getting the strongest impression. Also, he seemed to be very much associated with the tower itself, not someone just passing through.

Alan from soulsearchers got EVP on his last trip to Ross castle and they all heard it when they played it back. When he got back home it was not on the recording anymore too. Having said that my whole recording was gone

I received a very detailed response from Ross Castle, and I have been assured that nothing from the house was the cause of our bites. I have no new ones and I told the owner that as far as i was concerend that the issue is closed. I pointed out again that I really enjoyed my stay and hoped I was welcome to return, as it is a great spot IMO.

the recording going is a bummer, I know the eye is on me etc but I did not remove it. It's a pity as it could be along time before I get a recording like that again. There is a difference between Alan's situation and mine, as he still has the video footage , he just can't hear the voice anymore!!!!!!

This kinda thing could have happened to anyone. Hopefully it wont be to long before you get another one. It looks like they may be heading back towards Ross in the near future. Maybe something will be got then.

Good to hear, I meant to ask you about that, what kind of letter did you send, a complaint or just a 'we think maybe' kind of thing ? I still don't think it was fleas myself, I didn't go near the dog there much and it didn't look like he ever goes into the house. He didn't look flea-bitten at all either.

Hi guys

Sorry its taken so long to stick in my tuppence worth but here it is anyway!

The location was great, full of atmosphere and energy upon entering the grounds. I mentioned very early on that I was picking up nothing noteable from the castle itself however in my opinion that general area is very active.

Early in the night we did a walk round and identified a few key areas for a closer look, and specific areas of the tower and the ground level rear building were picked out especially. Various members sensed goings on of a different sort to myself quite early, possibly due to being in slightly varied tune, or maybe that its all a big fraud and none of us are really here, a'la matrix, but lets not get into that particular chestnut!

Ok, The walk through identified several key areas and throughout the course of the early evening we each took some time in these areas a noted the odd anomoly. A cold spot was felt in the rear bedroom (ground floor), a couple of very bright orbs were caught on camera (for further looking at though), and someone was heard very audibly to make a breathey noise from second floor tower room, which was actually caught on tape and played back to everyone the following morning. This was the main feature of the night in my opinion as it was loud enough to make me sit up straight (in a place where noises were fairly common due to settling of the building etc) and say to 6th "did you hear that!".... well he did and a few others did the following morning, possibly not quite as clear with background fuzz on the recording though. Just before this 6th was picking up on his friend darting around the room - i admit i failed to pick up on any of this chaps antics as noted by a couple of the members, possibly due to having expended most of my energy in the grounds and bedroom to rear ground floor. Lateron a sleep was carried out (we fell asleep and nobody could awaken us dammit) and nothing was experienced or caught on camera (apart from 6th having a wee cuddle....)

Personal experience: I felt very VERY strongly that there was a LOT of traffic in the area, but also that it was not related to the structure standing on the site, that it was related to a hot spot in the region. Early on i picked up on a few characters, and most notably one very contemporary man. I had the feeling that the bulk of anything i experienced psychically was due to passers by as such, and i cant say i managed to definitely identify anyone related to the building, though one woman was definitely related to the SITE. Whilst in the top floor of the tower I did have a sense of a brooding man, very clearly in period and dateable in my opinion (ill be going away and checking thedetails before i go into them here), and also of his partner who was quite clearly ill or dieing at the time. Her child (boy, 6 or 7 years old) was made known to me however never entered the atmosphere on the night...

All in all an interesting and very fun night. Im disappointed i couldnt offer more, especially as i couldnt get in tune with what the others were experiencing, and am a bit concerned i influenced the others awareness by sharing mine BEFORE theyd had a chance to tune in for themselves. Lesson learned though. Afraid I cant specifiy anything mroe on the castle and its visitors other than those i feel are in the area at large...

ok before my report I best jump in on the "bites".

Yep i had them but they were not flea bites as they had no sign of a puncture which with fleas is usually fairly obvious if you know what to look for. I'd say it was something down by the lake or maybe up at the tombs?, but sure some piratize and cream sorted it out.

Ah to be honest i'm finding it hard to get excited about the forum today, am sure i'll post soon. Nothing from my photos (just orbs - and they dont excite me), still have to go through the video and audio footage.

Ok well here it goes this is just my personal report.

I was pretty giddy as i arrived, as usual, looking forward to a great night. Its only after i began to settle down that i started to get a feel for the place. Once we had most of the people there and we'd had a bit to eat we set about having a good looka round and looking at a plan for the night.

A few of us headed off and odonnell put his skills to use sketching the layout of what was felt were key rooms. Stoner took readings as we went, noting the position of electrical outlets and noticed that the heating was on a timer mean we would have to allow for this when using emf meters.

In the back bedroom of the new part of the building it was noted that there was a "different" feel to the room, not only by the usual sensitive people in the group but also by fudgemonkey and i think stoner too. We took some time to sit in this room and as i started to relax i felt this room was very active but not in any relation to the castle. odonnell really put his finger on it and refered to it as a hotspot. It felt like standing in a busy train station or on oConnell as people went past about their business. A few of these "people" stood out a little more and i noticed one who seemed to be modern and i felt comfortable with (a nice guy kinda like my big brother). Odonnell mentioned a guy in his mid 30's possibly from the 1970's, a very casual bloke who i believe was teh same person, ed had a name for him but i cant remember it. Ed seemed to be more on the same wave length to this area and picked up more but also seemed to be a little drained by it. As i said i could just feel all the different "traffic" passing through the area.

Everytime i walk through the entrance hall of the castle to the tower i was aware of a gentleman aged 44 who was a man of authority but not someone of social standing. He seemed to be like a caretaker. He was aware we were there and where ever i was he would be at the opposite end watching but not bothered by us. After a while of this i mentioned it to Ed who had picked up on the same guy behaving the same way and i think Ed even gave the same age i did. I stayed aware of this spirit all night but only on the ground floor of the entrance and the tower.

We hurriedly got ready for the sender/receiver experiment which from our end seemed to go well, though i'd like to give it alot more preparation and time on a future investigation.

Having spent a bit of time in the upper rooms of the tower i began to not look forward to the sleeper experiment as i was uncomfortable with the upper room as i felt a stronge and stressed/worried male presence. I dont know if this ws a recording or a conscious spirit but the feeling of worry made me uncomfortable. I trid to suggest I'd try the sleeper in the lower bedroom but steven had staked his claim (b*stard) but lookily for me ed had picked up on the presence in the top room and was willing to sleep with me (oh matron :eek:) in that room. Ed (odonnell) had picked up that the man was standing at the foot of the bed looking down on the bed with worry, he also picked up on a woman and child which is in his report.

Over the course of the night we didnt stay in set groups as was usually the case in Charleville (partially because the site was alot smaller) so it allowed people to spend time in the areas they felt suited them.

Kennett, Stoner, ODonnell and myself headed into the lower bedroom of the tower to have a bit of a vigal. Prior to this i had not had any feelings in this room. Ed and andy took the chairs and me and stoner took the four poster bed (i do seem to spend alot of time in bed with different men ). After a while laying on the bed i became aware of a presence on the arched ceiling above me and was a bit scared as it felt very "different" and so begins the story of Scraggy.

Ok 31 minutes and 52 seconds into our "experiment" an orb appears on the video just to the right of the bedpost ed said he felt the male presence. We purposely set the camera pointed at it as we hoped we'd catch something.

Can't say I really see anything like that in it... the clip is a little bit too short though, it might need to be longer so you have a frame of reference as to what things look like normally.

Yeah was just the file size i had problems with. Again it looks perfect on the camera viewer but alot darker on the mac.
