Anyone know a really good Polaroid shop?

I have an Image Pro camera, and am finding it very hard to get Image System film. I bought some out-of-date film in a pharmacy in Bray, and they are trying to order more. Does anyone know of a really good shop for Polaroid in the North Wicklow area, or even in Dublin, please? I can get Polaroid 600 easily, and Fujifilm Instax; I check out the polaroids on Flickr avidly; in the US and UK they don't seem to have the same problems in buying polaroid film. I know I can buy it online, but I'd rather just go to a shop not too far away and buy it when I need it.

We have them all, the digital, the camera phones, the film cameras, but polaroid is the way I want to go :) Thanks for the reply, I think now you're right about where I'll get it! Hopefully from my point of view the US/Japan instant film revival will reach these shores eventually!

    maireadmarie,

I dont think the shops here are going to ever stock much polaroid camera instant film and frankly if they did, they would overprice it, just like they do with every other product. I can get type 55 or 59 easily for large format, various instant film for medium format camera polaroid backs. Image Supply Systems seems to have the best selection.

I'm a sx-70 user also and cant remember ever buying a pack of timezero film in an irish camera shop. Always abroad, either mail order, online or ebay.

Why not ask some of the camera shops for the film you need and when they say they dont have it, ask for the phone number of the distributor. Maybe try Gunns for this. [I have a mobile number somewhere but cant locate it.]

I phoned them and they have the film, but the shops aren't stocking it. At least it is available by internet, and as I said above, that's the way I'll have to go! I've just bought an SX70, and I like the pics I see on Flickr taken with 600 film, so at least I'll be able to use that film even if I can't get the right one for SX70. Just bought the ND filter too. The Image Pro takes terrific photos, but it doesn't take long to run through one film! I'm practising on it now with just the battery :) I'll check out Gunns too, thanks very much for that. Polaroid film seems to be much cheaper in the US, I suppose it's the demand thing again. Though it's true, everything in Ireland is so much dearer than anywhere else, or it seems that way. Also I hate the stare and the headshake I often get in pharmacies when I ask for Polaroid! Or maybe I'm just paranoid! "It's all digital now", they tell me. Well, I have digital and prefer Polaroid, at least at the moment! Wish there were more like me...

Not everyone follows the crowd. ;)
