    Afternoon all,

Anyone fancy doing the ghost Bus tour on Saturday September 2nd? 9.30 tour so beers can be had before and after!

    Cost: 25euro

Go on you know you want to and I have to stop talking and actually contribute something!

    Ladybird:)

We could also do Bram Stoker beforehand actually.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,247 ✭✭✭✭6th

Ah surely the Bram needs a night to itself so we can pop into barcode and meet a very special Boardsie ;)

The 2nd looks good for me too.

The 2nd is fine for me too by the way... can't do the following weekend as I'm in Budapest.

I'm up for it, as as far as I know, I'm free.

    Maybe.

Better to point this out sooner rather than later but that is the night of the Germany match. Kick-off is 7:45, should be finishing around 9:30-ish. Might make some people a bit reluctant to go, or say they'll go, then realise the match is on and not turn up.

Hopefully, I don't want to give a definite as things have a habit of changing in the last few days. I more than likely be there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,165 ✭✭✭ladybirdirl

Ah bugger the match (not literally obviously)

So what say you all, change the night or go with the chosen few we already have?

The same night is fine for me, if we're meeting for a few drinks before anyway we can meet somewhere that'll be showing it and then just miss the last few minutes :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,165 ✭✭✭ladybirdirl

Steven my dear, do you really think I'm going to be able to drag all you boys away from the match to get on a bus after you've had a few drinks?

for that ridiculous suggestion I'm going to make you help me (I'm not quite sure how I will make you as I'm only little but I'll think of something)

We leave it at Satuday so! We need to get a few more going though, particularly the girlies

To do my best Mrs Doyle - go on go on go on

Monkeyfudge - budapest eh? Very nice. How come all of you lot get to go on holidays

I'm sure you will, the day women can't manipulate and bend men to their will, is going to be a great day for all humanity, but isn't likely to happen any time soon.

    :)

Oh it's for a boring work thing... I hates it!!! Nice city though.

Oh and I care not for the match... just make sure the pub serves Kopperberg.

Who are Germany playing anyway? I'd like to see them get beaten as I'll have to deal with a lot of German people the following week in Budapest.

no idea who Germany are playing

Monkeyfudge, what pubs in town serve Kopperburg.?

Given that the tour starts on O'Connell st and as I've said before I'm only little so I'm not legging around town to find a bus, has anyone any suggestions for pubs? Being a southsider I wouldn't really know any of the pubs along O'Connell St

How about the Lotts pub on the corner of Lotts and Liffey Street? It used to be that African crafts place... it's nice, fairly close to O'Connell Street and they serve Kopperberg in the proper glasses and everything... oh and the Pina Coladas aren't bad either.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,165 ✭✭✭ladybirdirl

Think I know where you're on about, if I get lost I'll just ring all of you anyway.

sounds good to me - Lotts it is then! Good decision monkeyfudge!!:)

Pina coladas eh, the night could go rapidly downhill before it even starts!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,247 ✭✭✭✭6th

All sounds good, I have a christening that day and its a good excuse to leave early .... well not a good excuse but an excuse none the less!

Yup that's right 6th. I need to book the tickets in the week leading up to the trip and I need to pay in advance obviously.Bit weak on the uptake but stopping short of bribery it looks like this is it!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,247 ✭✭✭✭6th

So would you like cash before the night? maybe paypal or i could creep into your room at night and leave it on your pillow? Will we all buy our own?

I'm in town anyway so could go buy the tickets as long as i know people will show.

How late can it be left to book, it's almost guaranteed that some people will pull out last minute and probably some will want to join up last minute too.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,247 ✭✭✭✭6th

I'd say we leave it til wednesday and screw anyone after that.

Any chance we could do an earlier tour than the 9.30 one? As there is something else on that evening that requires my august presence.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,165 ✭✭✭ladybirdirl

What time is the earlier one at?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,165 ✭✭✭ladybirdirl

7.30 6th. You've a prior engagement don't you - can you make it for that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,216 ✭✭✭✭monkeyfudge

Any idea how long the tour takes?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,952 ✭✭✭✭Stoner

Lads even though I wont be there, I have done it before and it took about 2-3 hours, it was great value and it is a mixture of good entertainment, local dublin history and a some ghost stories, well worth just the 4 of you going as the guide does all the talking anyway, I've been on far worse ghost tours and not too many better, btw the darker the better

  • Subscribers Posts: 19,421 ✭✭✭✭Oryx

I wont be making this one, as im too far away, and have to work that day. (Thanks for the pm ladybirdirl) Plus I have a wedding to go to the previous day, so I will be a bit the worse for wear (I hope). Good luck and enjoy.

Eeep... 2-3 hours... Any chance of doing this on the Friday or Sunday instead?
