I'm taking part in a 14km run this Sunday, its my first one and I'm just wondering what should I eat before hand and how long before the run, the run is at 9:30.

    thanks.

A light carbohydrate based breakfast (cereal/toast) eaten as early as possible, probably no later than 2 hours before the start is ideal. I usually keep drinking a carb drink (I use Hi five) intermitintly in the hours leading up to the start.
Just one thing for longer races, you need to be building up your carb intake for 3 days before so you won't run out of energy in the race.

By the way, where is this 14k race on sunday?

    Good luck!

    cheers thanks for the info.

I'm actually over in Sydney at the moment and am running the city to surf run, its from Hyde Park to Bondi beach, they reckon there will be 63,000+ runners!
