I bought a macbook pro 3 weeks ago and I am facing a problem now. It keeps switching off by itself suddenly!

Does anybody have any idea what can it be?

I still have the warranty but i can only go to the store on monday but maybe somebody here can give me a light!

    Thanks!

Switching off by itself suddenly, like when you turn it on it knocks off straight away? Or is it after a certain amount of time? It sounds like maybe a hardware issue

There is no pattern! Sometimes i use it all day and nothing happens. Sometimes i turn it on and it knocks out straight away...
And yesterday i was just listenin to music.. and it turned off.. and after 5 minutes it turned on by itself playing the music... bizarre haha

yeah probably is a hardware issue

Sounds like it could be the logic board in that case or indeed a dying stick of Ram

is your battery fully charged? The screen will go black when your working on battery without ac adaptor..?

Ask on the Mac Forum. This seems to be a common problem with MacBooks, and probably the MacBook Pro. Apple will replace this.

It could also be a problem with the battery. Some people are having trouble turning on due to defective batteries.

Just ring apple and have it collected or mactivate will do it under warranty too. Also I would advise you to buy applecare, it will be worth the cost trust me. Having problems with a powerbook g4 due to design fault at the moment and of course no applecare so they don't want to talk to me. If only I had have listened..
