As I am a novice when it comes to blogging, how adaptable are blog themes? I seem to have narrowed my dozen or so preferred designs for a new blog down to two, but one of them needs a few minor changes such as fonts and text sizes. If I go with the other one, I hope to put my own header on it, rather than the standard…

It depends on which software you are using for your blog, but most of the main blog software solutions allow you to pretty much do what you want, as long as you include the various calls to the scripts that allow you to post comments etc.,
