The only other thing is I already have a 450w silent power suply from Ebuyer will this be up to the job or will I need a new one?

What make, the rig will push it to full load, something you dont want with a "silent" power supply.

Get the x1900xt 512mb its better.

Is my rig going to work?

I think you converted the OCuk prices to euro using 17.5% VAT. When you put them in your basket and select Ireland as your country you'll be charged 21% VAT. Just keep that in mind when comparing prices between komplett and OCuk that are close.

Also theres something funny about the two RAM you quoted. I think the OCUK ram is the 5300 2x512MB kit not the 6400 2x1024MB kit.

And yes you will need a big powersupply for that rig. At least 500W

Hard Drive - I'd personally recommend the Seagate 320GB 7200.10s for €105 with 16MB cache (edit - from Komplett). AFAIK the seagate 10s are the fasted non-raptor drives at the mo'. And pretty quite too.

You OS will start up faster on a raptor. Thats the setup I have, a 74GB raptor for Windows and the seagate for storage. Windows does start up pretty fast :)

Also the mobo - MSI one = potential for crossfire
Gigabyte one = no potential for crossfire

THe heatsink fan - the Arctic cooler one is the best one judging from reviews. Although personally I dont own one.

Thats all I can think of for now. It'll be a nice rig when its finished.

Edit: w00t - 100'th post. And another star too! Double w00t!

Looks good. change the hd. That 1 you quoted only got 8mb cache. get Seagate or wd 16mb. Seagate & WD got 5 yr warranty which is a great bonus.
It's your choice on the mobo, whether you want xfire or not. Gigabyte is best clocker out there at mo.
I'd recommend the 1900xt over the 7900gt. Slightly better for the same price, and will allow you go xfire on the msi mobo (if thats what you get).
Get a 500w psu. Good brand, Ocz, Antec or seasonic.
I split my order between Komplett & Ocuk when i bought my parts.
    Good luck
    Pog

    Don't forget 2 post benchies. :D

Edit: Get this cooler. Everyone raves on bout them. Supposed to be as good as watercooling and v silent. http://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.asp?sku=312473

    Alright cheers lads!!

I'm not to worried about the vat if ye know what I mean, that's why I don't mind going for overclockers.

That's a fuppen pain in the arse about the PSU I just bought the 450w one to replace a 600w that sounded like a faulty air extractor. Now have to buy another one.

I'll go with the Radeon then cheers.

I guess I'll go for the MSI board is it fanless? The pics on OC and komplett are different.

I'll go over the hard drives again, I want a kick ass PC this time I've always gone cheap in the past but this things getting very expensive  Up to €2000 now

I used the crucial ram selector thing on Komplett to find the right ram all those figures just go completely over my head but I think it's one. I linked to the page not the bookmark of the ram I wanted so the right ones are lower down on the page mefinks.

Had a look at more pics of the case. I hate the way the window lets you see the steel frame for the drives, I think they all do this but it slightly annoyed me with the last case I had, who needs to see the frameing. It's also not as installer friendly as say an antec case from the looks of things. Might spray the inside of the case black or someit. And OC would have to be out of them.

This is how it looks now.

I might order the case on monday but I'll have to wait 2 weeks for the rest as I'll have to borrow the ol lads devil card but he's off on hols at the moment.

You might get away with a 450W power supply provided its a good make eg seasonic, ocz, antec etc.

However, I doubt you'd be able to overclock your conroe which would be a shame.

The 1800xt's are very cheap (about 50 quid cheaper) and are almost as fast.

It will be a sweet rig,

Ya can't wait to get the thing and put her through her paces. :D

It's time to buy and wouldn't you know it now Komplett are out of the Lexa case...

I'm looking at the Thermaltake Shark Silver Aluminium case now, anyone had any experience with these? Looks just as good I kindof like that the window doesn't show the PSU and drives but it's still a fairly small window.

Other than that all I'm worried about is the motherboard, has a better one come out? I was looking at the Asus P5N32-SLI Premium on overclockers, looks like it might have better sound and be a bit quieter.

SLi is universal right? You don't need one board for Geforce and another for Ati do you?

No new mobo's out yet, still the same choices. Asus P5w & intel badaxe are the best clockers. Gigabyte ok also. I got a great clock outa my dfi mobo, v happy with it. Your choice.......whatever suits your budget. :D

I got the Thermaltake Armour case & love it (although others here slated them). They reckon they're shabbily built & have sharp edges, although i've no cuts after my build & find the case has great airflow & looks good with the blue led fans.

Arse on it anyway, the fuppen speakers and motherboard are out of stock. I'm back to square one on the motherboard front now. Komplett don't seem to have the best selection in the world looks like I'll have to go with Ebuyer and pay another fortune on shipping. Over clockers charged me around £50 because they had to ship it in two seperate orders.
