I've only been at the table for 15+ hands but these 2 have already drawn my attention.

Villian #1 is to my UTG + 1 and is very loose and quite passive. PT stats are 67/17/1 VP$IP/PFR/agg (most raises PF where min-raises). The only big hand he played before this one was where he cold-called a raise and then a re-raise with 98o, check-called with top pair on the flop and then checked it down.

Villian #2 is on the Button and is a maniac! PT Stats were about 70+/50/2.5. Nothing really out of the ordinary other than what the stats indicate. I haven't been paying too much attention though!

I'm in C/O with QTs and a stack of $73 and both villians cover.

UTG and Villian #1 limp. I limp, planning a squeeze if Villian #2 raises and nobody else shows and strength.

Villian #2 raises to $4. SB folds. BB calls. UTG folds. Villian #1 calls.

I raise to $20. Both villians (seem to) hesitate, and call.

    FLOP: JT8 with one club.

Villian checks and I push for slightly less than the pot.

Comments on any part of the play very welcome.

I didn't have either on a strong hand, Villian #1 because of the hand before and #2 because his PF raise was pretty standard and the call didn't suggest anything different.

This hand leads onto a broader question: How do you normally deal with players like this? It would be great if the stayed around for about 200 hands but they never do! They either get stacked by somebody else very quickly or move on when they have a big hand. I've only been playing 6-Max for a little while but there seems to be quite a few playing like this.

Ok what you're essentially doing is semi/bluffing against maniacs who call PF with any 2 cards. This is a major no no and will end up costing you an absolute fortune. The way to play these guys is to wait for a good hand and stack them.Dont semi bluff and definately dont bluff cuz they'll usually call if they hit anything.

    With regards to this hand.

Never limp reraise against these type of players unless you're holding a monster and even then i'd be careful because they'll most likely call anyway to see a flop.

Never EVER try and buy maniacs out of a pot. They'll call with any two cards and you're $20 bet is just more money going into middle against a huge range of hands that Villian could have.

Only ever play made hands strong against this type of villian. You're out of position with a hand that is usuallly never favorite in a 3 way pot. J2 is even beating you here and you cant rule that out of the equation because of how loose these guys are.

These guys will pay you off and it usually happens when they are outkicked or else drawing so dont build pots for them with medium hands.

    Be patient. ;)

P.S Add them to your buddy list.

With regards post flop, is it really better to check/call it down than push. If I'm not ahead, I'm 60/40 behind to most hands and would be getting the odds to call a push. Only QJ, sets and made straights are v far ahead. Any bit of folding equity I can muster is good. I'd also expect to be called by at least as many hands that I'm ahead of, including draws (lone 9's), as hands that are ahead of me.

Still don't know about PF but you're probably right..

Check calling is fine if you're getting good odds or think he's drawing/bluffing.The best way to beat these guys is to find out how they play post flop. If they shutdown when they miss then you can mid pair thru with any bet however if they get aggressive when its checked to them watch them at Showdown just to get an idea of how they react.

I played against a similar guy last night who would treble the pot every time when checked to and he would always have less than TP. However if he pushed he had the nuts. The observations you make on these players will win you a lot of money.
