start >> run >> type msconfig >> startup tab.

    search there for the processes.

also check the services tab and hide all microsoft services and see if there's any printer services there that you should be able to stop

you don't need to touch that

that's in the general tab, look at the top of the active window you have tabs: general, system.ini, win.ini, boot.ini, services and startup.

go to startup and deselect processes that involve your printer.

Any changes to the msconfig will result it in changing to selective startup. It's perfectly normal and when u reboot you'll get a warning message which you can set to not prompt again.

Start->Run->type "services.msc" and if you don't use a printer anymore you could turn off Print Spooler.

I presume u've restarted PC after uninstall printer software? Sometimes the service won't be removed until restart.

It's fine, always says selective startup when you change things in msconfig. Just tick box not to show message again.
I use a prog called startup inspector, it turns off services for ya & allows you to google them to see exactly what they are & what they do. Get it and go back to normal startup if you want. No need for system restore.....you didn't make any serious changes.
