I have Pro View EM-175 monitor and for some reason the menu keeps popping up! This gets in the way of everything. Once it's up pressing "exit" doesn't help, and it flashes several times to indicate the "call" for the menu is being repeated.

I have no idea what's causing this. I thought it was interference from new speakers but I removed them and no luck. Please help.

Is the button that causes the menu to appear jammed in?

No. I even removed it completely.

Are you using the monitors native resolution? Iv seen something similar on older OEM Lcds.

    The resolution is ifne.

I brought it to a computer shop and they said they couldn't fix it. Where would i bring a broken monitor?

boot up pc in safe mode ,hold down f8 just before winxp starts to load, after bios screen,go to display propertys, set refresh rate to 60mhz resolution to 800x600,you can get old crt 14inch 30 euro ,just to use pc for the moment,or borrow on from boards member.Or press menu on monitor, reset to defaults.

It's not the resolution, or the computer, I've tried it on different computers at different resolutions.

I don't see why that would make the menu flash up either way.

i had the exact same problem on a crt about 2 years ago due to slight water damage, after a while it just cleared up and was fine

Whats happened is that the menu buttons contact on the circitboard has been ( for lack of better word ) linked. What you can do is take the monitor apart and have a look at the circuitboard behind the buttons and see if the plastic contact pad has stuck to the circuit board, apart from that what warrenty has the monitor got ? and how long ago did you buy it ?

you could leave it in to tv repair shop,or theres a pc repair place in parnell st, multitech ,opposite illac centre ,200yards from peats approx.its not safe for nonprofessionals to open tv,or crt, even unplugged tube can electrocute you.
