IT Contracting

I was wondering if any of you working as contractors in the IT market could give me a little bit of feedback...
I've been thinking about contracting for a while for the obvious reasons of more money, more control over the money that you do earn, more exposure to different projects and technology, etc, etc.
I have a few questions though:

    1.
At the moment I'm on decent enough money (nearly 60k) and I've been given the opportunity to work as a contractor for 450 a day (minimum length of contract is 6 months). Considering the extra hassle of sorting out your VHI and pension stuff, is it worth it?
    2.
How stable is the contracting market at the moment? From looking around at the job sites, it seems okay...
    3.
How often to do you get paid? Monthly? Weekly? And also, do you have hassle getting paid (are you waiting ages for invoices to paid)?

Get a broker to do the leg work if you think that it is too much for you.

Quite stable, but will it be stable in 6/12/18 months? Who knows? That's the rollercoaster life we call contracting!

Generally you will get paid monthly. Depends on your agency though, & their reliability.

    Best of luck.

450 a day is approx 108000 a year - a half decent accountant and u'll take most of that home...well worth it
